Friday, May 26, 2006 Blair/ Goldsmith's Mea Culpa? And Bush though he had problems? (via Independent UK): "MP George Galloway has said it would be morally justified for a suicide bomber to murder Tony Blair: "It would be entirely logical and explicable. And morally equivalent to ordering the deaths of 1000s of innocent people in Iraq - as Blair did." Well Blair, ya just may want to beef up the old security gig b/c this (also via Independent UK) smells like a play from Bush's how to play dirty handbook: "The Att Gen's office was ordered to disclose info leading to his advice on the legality of invading Iraq in '03. Info Commissioner Richard Thomas upheld requests for an explanation of Lord Goldsmith's statement to Parliament on 3/17/03. So, he's ordered to release the stuff, but he decides he'll release what he wants to: "The Att Gen, Lord Goldsmith, breached his Govt's own freedom of info laws by refusing to make public how he came to the controversial conclusion that war with Iraq would be legal." After reading that article it doesn't appear that the Brit media will just roll over and play dead like our corporate whores do. So, was Bush just trying to soften us up w/ his "kinder, gentler" warmonger schtick before the "Iraq war is illegal" Brit cat might be let out of the bag? |
