Cheney the NeoConMonster says his screeching harpy Lynne put the "slapdown" on Wolf Blitzer

No, this is not a Halloween trick. It is for real. Cheney, the real animated Neo-Con corpse proudly told Fox News that his screeching harpy wife Lynne put the "slap down" on Wolf Blitzer during her Friday CNN interview. Funny... but if her 15 mins of mysterious amnesia and lies in regards to writing a novel about lesbian sex, prostitution, and rapes constitutes a slap down then so be it, but why are so many wingnuts like Rush Limpballs and Hugh Hewitt rushing to her defense and attacking Wolf by claiming THAT THIS NEW BAD MAN "sandbagged" her? Excuse me? She comes out w/full fangs bared to attack Jim Webb's novels-- based upon his own experiences in Vietnam and elsewhere as a military man-- and she dares to think her own lesbian love novel is off limits? I guess such blatant hypocrisy explains why she inexplicably attacked John Kerry but not GOPer Alan Keyes, who called Mary Cheney a "selfish hedonist" for being gay, when Kerry dared to mention Mary's sexuality. Lynne claims Kerry "outed" her already openly gay daughter, who was for many yrs the gay/lesbian liaison for the Coors Brewing Corp, who was openly wooing gay voters for her dad's campaign, and who beepopped around DC w/her lesbian partner. How do you out the outed? Anyhoo... now under attack, Wolf defends his position by not only fact checking the obvious sexual content of her 25 yr old novel, but he also says that this: "I just want to correct the record. We did not sandbag Mrs. Cheney, she knew full well that we would be asking her serious political questions in addition to those questions that we asked her about her new children's book that was reaffirmed with her staff only hrs before the interview. In fact, every time she has come to do an interview w/ me in recent yrs about children's books, she always agrees to answer serious questions, and she did as well this time." Now I'm no defender of Blitzer. In fact, I pretty much feel like this person does in regards to his career: Wolf has pretty much spent the last 6 yrs being a professional GOP fluffer, so what should he expect when they bend him over and treat him like a $2 whore on the air? But c'mon CheneyMonster. Your wife, like you, is a big fat lying waste of inhuman flesh. The 2 of you wouldn't know the truth if you tripped over it, landed on top it, and it bit you on your smelly asses. But what should we expect? This screeching harpy's husband wants to strap people to a board and "simulate" drowning them until they faint, go into cardiac-arrest or organ failure, then revive them and repeat the process until they scream out something, anything to make the torture stop. Sorry... but Neo-Con creatures like that are coming up pretty short in the morals and honesty dept, so of course she lied on CNN about her blatantly sexual novel and then tries to play the poor lil Repuke victim who was attacked.

Al-Zawahri still alive. US blames Pakistan for bombing school & did Saddam agree to all US demands before '03 invasion but BushCo said no?

Here's how to make more friends in the Muslim world: Bomb an Islamic religious school, kill 80 people, lie about it & then blame 1 of your few allies-- the Pakistanis. Hmm... call me a skeptic, but if al-Zawahri had actually been killed, do you think the US would still claim that this bombing was all Pakistan's idea? Yeah... me neither. I wonder if the Repukes will try to blame Clinton for letting this al-Qaeda guy go, too? Probably, but nevermind. Clinton's bombing of an aspirin factory is still "worse" in BushWorld than taking out a religious school when the US is engaged in a war and occupation of a Muslim nation. A Muslim nation, by the way, whose leader accepted Bush's ultimatum before the '03 invasion, according to Saddam's former advisor, Hossam Shaltout, who is a Canadian aerospace engineer, former American pilot, and founder of the peace organization Rights & Freedom Internatl.

Trick or Treat... UPDATED: Why we so need this tradition of trust & hope in BushWorld

It is Trick or Treat in our neck of the woods today. Here is BabyGirl... she is a "sparkley witch" complete with black and purple velvet. Let's face it... the days of Hollywood's scary hag with a green face and wart are just so passe. Today's ladies of the dark arts know how to combine beauty, brains, and arcane knowledge with a chic ensemble. You go BabyGirl!

UPDATE: That was my quick post for Sunday afternoon. I LOVE Halloween (for me, the holiday season kicks off with my wedding anniversary on Oct 23rd, followed by Halloween, carries thru w/ Thanksgiving and Christmas, and wraps up w/ New Year's). Unlike my Repuke wingnut evangelical inlaws and their crazy ilk, it is not nor could it ever be a "Satanic" holiday. And I also wanted to share a pix of my kiddo, whom I am fiercely proud of, and I will happily show her off to blog-world any chance I get. But after the entire Trick or Treat experience on Sunday afternoon (in our area, we hold Trick or Treat usually from 3 to 5pm the Sunday before Halloween. It is done this way for safety reasons and so hopefully more parents can participate b/c it is the weekend) got me to thinking about why exactly this tradition is so very needed today in BushWorld. Trick or Treat is based completely on trust and hope... something that is completely absent in Bush's America. Not only do we blindly open our homes (our very own version of a fortress) to complete strangers who happen to be dressed up in disguises-- oftentimes very scary ones-- but we also take our children out (clearly the most precious "items we own" on earth) to walk among complete disguised strangers and allow them to go to the door of a complete stranger and actually beg for food that complete strangers have handled. THAT requires complete and utter blind trust. THAT is a something that must really burn BushCo's ass. They cannot exist if we are not quaking in fear. They are the admin of gloom, doom, fear, hatred, and mistrust. And I'm willing to bet that some of the kids you passed out candy to and/or received candy from, came from households that practice different religions & beliefs... and dare I say?... could have even been Muslim... *gasp!* Yes, Halloween is an ancient pagan celebration of the end of the harvest before the death of the crops in winter, and the passing on of loved ones to the other world of the dead (and rightfully should be reverred as such, as the Mexicans wisely do, b/c if you do not honor and respect the dead, you sho 'nuff probably do not appreciate and respect the living) but Trick or Treat was born as part of this 2000 yr old Irish tradition. It came about as a represenation of the journey that souls must take while moving to the other world. The custom of trick-or-treating as we recognize it today is thought to have originated w/a custom called souling. On Nov 2, All Souls Day, early Christians would walk from village to village begging for "soul cakes," made out of square pieces of bread w/ currants. The more soul cakes the beggars would receive, the more prayers they would promise to say on behalf of the dead relatives of the donors. At the time, it was believed that the dead remained in limbo for a time after death, and that prayer, even by strangers, could expedite a soul's passage to heaven. That same ancient tradition of trust and hope among strangers lives on to this day, thankfully. There is no screeching & snarling by Lynne Cheney that CNN is lying about the many crimes of this admin and claiming that CNN is a propaganda tool for the terrorists. There is no happy, shiny endorsement of waterboarding by The Lying Big Dick by calling it mere "dunking." There is no distortion of truth by Rove the Toad about "THE Math" of elections. There are no ramblings from Lithium Laura about daring to question Dear Leader and his war is somehow helping out the terrorists. There is no coverup of inexplicably missing weapons in Iraq that were intended for Iraqi security forces and a string of massive fuckups in Iraq that are mindboggling. There is no Hastert coverup of a Defense Dept corruption probe. There are no insane ramblings by our Prez that democracy is A-okay for the nations he plans on imposing it upon, but sadly, not good enough for America. It is merely a celebration of human trust and hope. We trust that the spooky disguises will not scare us. We trust that those who we offer food to will not harm us. We trust that our own precious children will not be harmed or scared. We trust that complete strangers will behave as we want them to and not hurt or posion our children. I for one love that idea. Trust like that is sorely lacking in BushWorld, and no amount of Homeland Security color charts can detract from that kind inherent trust we place in each other as fellow human beings. THAT more than anything must enrage BushCo. THAT goes against everything they spew at us in their fearmongering vomitous tirades. THAT is something I plan on instilling in my children and they can hopefully pass on to my future grandchildren. THAT is based on trust, hope and faith in fellow human beings. THAT is what can lead to agreements of peace and an end to the war-mongering insane bloodthirsty ideology of the Neo-Cons, the Religious Fright, and the GOP.

Let's get rrr-ready to rrr-rumble... and piss our pants in laughter: Santorum wrestles

OMG... if you are in need of a serious laugh, please do yourself a favor and watch the single most ridiculous political ad ever: Rick Santorum in a wrestling ring.... I kid you not. Funny, but a guy who says that gay marriage will lead to "man on dog sex" doesn't feel odd being in a ring with scantily clad, sweaty, muscular men in skin tight pants that want to wrestle him? Add to the ridiculousness that The Fetus Fondler actually tries to paint himself out to be some kind of "maverick" Repuke by mentioning Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, and yes, even GOP ass kisser Joe Lieberman (oh yes... he actually goes there. He mentions "I kissed Bush with plenty of tongue" Lieberman in an attempt to gain some kind of so-called liberal cred... sweet Jesus.) Personally, I'd pay Jack Black damn good money if he'd dress up like Nacho Libre and open up a can of wrestling whoop-ass on Little Ricky... but that's just me.

Liars & Lunatics in Ohio: Chabot and Schmidt

And speaking of ridiculous political ads and lunacy, please... come visit the insane asylum in Ohio: Watch this shameful ad from Rep Steve Chabot (R-OH) and the NRCC. The ad actually attacks Dem House candidate John Cranley for......... being in favor of tasering kids! Notice the sweet little pigtailed white girl they use in this despicable ad... gosh darnit... we gotta scare those crazy rednecks and hillbillies with those Dems wanna get your kids w/ a taser! And since we're discussing lunatics, could someone please award Jean the Wrinkled Prune Schmidt (beware: please do not have food/ drink in your mouth, and for the love of God... think of the children, and cover their eyes before clicking on this) the Congressional Dumbest DumbAss award? It is bad enough she brags about a supposed degree she claims to have recieved, yet never did, it is bad enough she blatantly lies and plagiarizes and dares to call herself a "hottie" (dear God... writing that made me throw up a bit in my mouth), it is bad enough that she insulted decorated Vietnam Marine vet Rep John Murtha and then had Rachel Dratch make fun of her on Saturday Night Live, but now this stupid c**t doesn't even know what the House Rules are. Maybe when that house fell on her it truly did leave her brain damaged?

I got a sick kiddo to tend to

This is pretty much how BabyGirl looked and acted all day/ evening long: Sleepy, sweaty, pink flushed cheeks, and INCREDIBLY grumpy. If she wasn't trying to go to sleep, she was crying about wanting to go to sleep. Ya mon, I'm no Miss Cleo... but I distinctly see a pediatrician visit in my immediate future, even if the cards didn't tell me so. Be back later.

Who TRULY supports the Troops? According to the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America, the DEMOCRATS do

The news out of Iraq now is this: US considers adding troops in Baghdad. Translation: Repukes are still staying the curse, so they need more of our sons and daughter to go die for their incompetent illegal lie of a war in Iraq. Oh... and don't even dare to think that things are any better in Afghanistan: US military officials tell ABC News that cross-border attacks by the Taliban are up 300% since Pakistani Pres Musharraf declared a "truce" w/ tribal leaders in the troubled N. Waziristan region that borders Afghanistan. Reports say Taliban vigilantes now patrol the streets, while Pakistani govt officials and the military are all but absent. Hmm... I guess this means that former Bush terrorism czar Richard Clarke is proven yet again correct when he predicted back in Sept: "What this means is that the Taliban and al Qaida leadership have effectively carved out a sanctuary inside Pakistan." Oh, don't worry. Our esteemed and questionably hetero prez once again looked deeply into another male leader's eyes and announced: "When Pres Musharraf looks me in the eye and says the tribal deal is intended to reject the Talibanization of the people, and that there won't be a Taliban and won't be Al Qaeda, I believe him." So, against this backdrop of BushCo war incompetence, comes this: Shamelessly taken from a diary by Hunter at Daily Kos comes this truly un-frickin-believable chart from Bob Geiger that will blow you away. The chart, based on the over 300 votes the IAVA (Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America) used in its calculation, ALL Senate Democrats have been more supportive of the troops -- when it comes to their actual votes, over the past 5 yrs -- than ANY of the Senate Republicans. Hey lying sack of gangrenous shit GOPers... go stuff that in the tailpipe of your gas-hog SUV w/ the crappy yellow magnetic "I support the troops" sticker. You freaks support torture. Not our troops.

Yet 2 more GOP scandals: Rep Rick Renzi (R-AZ) & Rep Jim Gibbons (R-NV)... and shockingly, NO preyed upon children were involved!

Holy Mother on a moped!... do the Republican scandals EVER end? On the very day that Denny "I do not recall that" Hastert lied under oath... err... "testified under oath" about the Foley scandal, comes news of even more GOP scandals. Of course poor Hastert can't recall a thing. His mind must be clogged by copious amounts of sausage gravy or sweet and sour sauce (yet I bet if we were to ask him when was the last time he ate really great surf & turf or a fudge brownie sundae, he could provide a detailed account of the menu plus a map to the restaurant that would rival MapQuest). This comes via Talking Pts Memo: "Hmmm. Not looking too good for Rep Rick Renzi (R-AZ). Just a short while ago we alerted you to the AP story breaking the news that Renzi is the subject of a federal investigation centering on a shady land deal. And a short time after the AP story broke, TPMmuckraker followed up with more details about the transaction, the subsequent investigation and info about a NYTs piece... except get this!: "The NYTs investigative piece by David Johnston appears to be about an entirely separate bad act. This one is about an investigation into a piece of legislation Renzi introduced to help a telecom company that happens to employ Renzi's father." And now onto a bizarre pattern of behavior that seems to be exclusively repeated within Repuke circles: The first clue that a repub is secretly engaging in a nasty habit is his or her attempt to implement harsh legislation against that exact same behavior. Secretly prey upon teenage boys? Then, like Mark Foley, you can chair the Committee for Missing and Exploited Children and push for legislation that would put a sleazy pedophile like yourself away for yrs! Have a thing for hiring illegal immigrants and yet incessantly spew on the campaign trail that you will put a stop to illegals taking hardworking American's jobs? Then you might just be NV's Repuke Rep Jim Gibbons! (via AMERICAblog): Rep Jim Gibbons (R-NV), the guy who was accused last wk of attacking a young woman in a parking lot, has been exposed as the former employer of an illegal immigrant from Peru. The very anti-immigration Gibbons had Patricia Pastor Sandoval working for him for yrs as a cook, maid and babysitter, and even hid her in the basement to avoid detection. And yes, Ms Sandoval has plenty of photos w/ the Gibbons and their kids to back up her claims, but even more damning than those pix are federal legal documents from 1988, signed by Gibbons' wife Dawn, that state that everyone knew that Patricia, was undocumented and that she'd worked for the family since 1987, cooking, cleaning and babysitting, and even had an employment contract for $800/month, working 10 hrs per day, 5 days per wk (that ends up being about $4.00 per hr, in case anyone wonders.) Watch the YouTube of the local 5pm news story in NV from Las Vegas. The local news devoted 8 full mins to this story... 8 mins on the local news!.. ya know it can be damaging.

F is for fearmongering, and for the grade the GOP has earned in leadership

Keith Olbermann gave another one of his fabulous special comments. He knocked this one outta the park (as usual) and nailed it about the Repukes and their use of the "fear card" as a form of terrorism on the American people, which it is absolutely. But let's face some facts here: The entire ideology of the Republican Party is based upon fear. If you are a Repuke, you simply embrace and coddle fear. They are afraid of homosexuality b/c it somehow threatens their own obvious insecure sexual orientation. They are afraid of other races and religions, and even go as so far to completely make up imaginary persecution by other races and religions. They are afraid of equality for women, of the empowerment of women over their educational, employment, and reproductive futures, and... dare I even say it?... *GASP* of women freely choosing to have sex AND not be left pregnant afterwards. They are afraid of people actually earning a living wage that would allow them to feed and clothe their children, buy a bit of consumer goods, and raise their families with some semblance of dignity and equality. They are afraid of granting the simple basic human right of health care for all, which would protect us all from medical catastrophes b/c it is NOT a case of IF you get sick, it is a case of WHEN you get sick, yet they somehow claim that we all must pay for national security, military might, and fire and police protection "just in case some catastrophe strikes." They are afraid of peace, prosperity, and true unity b/c those things weaken their American Dream of hatred, bigotry, wealth for a few on the backs of the impoverished many, and imperialistic bloodlust. Of course they dust off Osama and parade around his sorry-ass just in time for Election Day. It is all they have. They have ABSOLUTELY no accomplishments besides coronating King George without the actual coronation ceremony. They have not protected our borders and ports b/c they want cheap labor to be exploited. They have bankrupted our children's children's futures by making sure that every newborn baby automatically inherits $30K of debt that they did not even get to enjoy earning. They call our demands for universal healthcare "dirty socialism" yet they applauded the Iraqis when they wrote universal healthcare into their Iraqi constitution. They have made our active duty troops demand to come home from this clusterfuck war that has no chance of ever resulting in any semblance of a victory. They go on wild witchhunts to "route out" moral failings of others, yet turn a willing blind eye to their own blatant moral failings. I am tired of these freaks trying to force me to live in fear. I'm tired of these freaks trying to force me to question my love for my nation and my patriotism b/c I dare to question my govt and the failing leadership that is driving my nation over a cliff at a 100mph. I'm tired of them proclaiming to be the one and only "true" Christians, yet they do, say, and act in ways that are 100% absolutely NOT reflected in the words and teachings of Jesus Christ. I refuse to listen to their fearmongering vomit anymore. I for one will take the advice of Psalms 23:4 and boldly say: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil."

Israel admits:Phosphorus bombs in Lebanon

Although always denied by the Israelis, last wk the Guardian UK reported that doctors in Gaza had been treating previously unseen injuries from Israeli weapons that cause severe burning, bodies are severely fragmented, melted and disfigured, with no large shrapnel found in the bodies yet deep internal wounds. Tissue samples from patients in Gaza were given to journalists from the Italian television channel RAI (the same Italian channel that uncovered the explosive news that has been proven 100% correct that the US used the illegal weapon white phosphorus (WP) against Iraqi civilians). In a documentary shown 2 wks ago, RAI said the injuries appeared similar to the effects of Dime (Dense Inert Metal Explosive, an experimental weapon the US has developed.) However, the Israeli military denies the use of Dime weapons. Well... call me skeptical, but the US denied using WP, and that denial was proven to be 100% crapola. Not to mention the fact that the US happily supplied God knows what kind of weapons to Israel this July to lay waste to Lebanon and Gaza, including the very denied cluster bombs. Sooo... with all of this mounting evidence, could that be why NOW in the Independent UK, Israel is for the first time admitting using phosphorous bombs during its 34-day war campaign in Lebanon? Did they use 'em in Gaza, too?

Chicago Voter Database Hacked Into

As if living in Ohio under Sec of State Blackwell who promised to hand deliver Ohio to Bush & Cheney in 04... and DID!... wasn't bad enough, we now have this from ABC News: Bob Wilson, an official w/ the Illinois Ballot Integrity Project (which bills itself as a not-for-profit civic organization dedicated to the correction of election system deficiencies, and whose motto is "Paper not Vapor") tells ABC News that last wk his org hacked the database, which contains detailed information about 100s of 1000s of Chicago voters, including their Social Sec numbers, and dates of birth. "It was a serious identity theft problem, but also a problem that could potentially create problems w/ the election," Wilson said. A nefarious hacker could have changed every voter's status from active to inactive, which would have prevented 1000s of them from voting, he said. "Or we could've changed the information on what precinct you were in or what polling place you were supposed to go to. So there were ways that we could potentially change the entire online data base and disenfranchise voters throughout the entire city of Chicago. If we'd wanted to, we could've wiped the entire database out," Wilson claimed. No wonder 1 of ABC's most emailed headlines for Monday was "Electronic Voting Machines Could Skew Elections." Oh yeah... I feel soo much better about E-voting.

Hannity the Gangrenous Douchebag: "Dems, just stay home on Election Day."

Fox News host Sean Hannity is encouraging Dem voters to "stay home on Election Day," adding that, "your vote doesn't matter anyway." (well, thanks to Diebold and Repuke dirty tricks and voter purges, that statement IS true) He added that Dems should not turn out to vote "for the sake of the nation" because Dems' votes "won't change who occupies the White House" (unless of course if we impeach Bush for all of his many crimes) and said that Democratic "candidates have absolutely no idea how to win the war on terrorism."… uhhhh.... so the complete arrogance and stupidity of BushCo in Iraq and his rubber stamp Repukes (as told by BushCo spin doctor Alberto Fernandez, director of public diplomacy at the state dept's bureau of near eastern affairs here) HAS been working and is winning the war? Hmm... somebody had better let RNC chariman Ken Mehlman in on these wins, b/c he has been telling folks that the Republicans "cut & Run" from Afghanistan and that the terrorists took over. And forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but somebody had better tell Bush to zip it quick b/c he actually told Stephanopoulos: "We've never been stay the course." Hmm... whatever will Hannity say about that? Feh... he'll probably say very little. Hannity's been up to his evil elbows in helping out Ohio wingnut Ken Blackwell in smearing Ted Strickland by calling him gay.

Duncan Hunter asks Pentagon to Un-Embed CNN Reporters... freedom of the press my ass

Last wk, on "Anderson Cooper 360," a video (which came to CNN thru contact w/an insurgent leader) that showed insurgent snipers targeting US soldiers was broadcast. CNN producer David Doss acknowledged that the video could be shocking to some viewers, but he wrote on Thurs that the network televised the footage in an effort to present the "unvarnished truth" about the Iraq war. Well... guess what? The unvarnished truth simply just won't do in BushWorld: In a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) wrote: "CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier." Hunter is the the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and he asked the Pentagon on Friday to remove CNN reporters embedded with US combat troops, saying the network's broadcast of a video showing insurgent snipers targeting US soldiers was tantamount to airing an enemy propaganda film. The letter was also signed by GOP congressmen Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray. "This is nothing short of a terrorist snuff film," Bilbray said at a press conference held in San Diego. Here's a novel idea: How about we un-embed our troops from Iraq? Or maybe we could embed Hunter, Issa, and Bilbray in Iraq so they could see and report firsthand on all the "good news" that is simply overflowing in Iraq yet that our oh-so "liberal media" refuses to report upon? And call me crazy... but I seriously doubt if any American who has been paying attention for the last 3 and half years is shocked to learn that somebody in Iraq has been shooting at our troops. If not, how have almost 3000 been killed and 20,000 been injured and/or maimed? I'm sure if Rove & the Repukes thought they could get away with it, they'd float around a theory that "crazy cut and run happy liberals" have been shooting at our troops in Iraq.

My 7th Wedding Anniversary

Monday is my 7th wedding anniversary, but we will be celebrating this weekend. So, I'll be taking a wee break, and I'll be back in a few. To my Hubby: I know I have been very moody as of late, but these pregnancy hormones have been getting the better of me at times. I really do appreciate your patience, believe me. You are a wonderful and loving husband and father. I love being your best friend. I love being your companion. I love being your wife. And oh yeah... I love being your baby's momma. I love you honey. I love our little family that will be expanding in Spring time, and I love the happiness we've made together. I'd marry you again in a second.

Let's get ready to Fear Monger!: GOP amping up scary Osama commericial

Truly, the GOP can't even fake originality anymore. Last election, it was Cheney saying that a vote for Kerry would result in "we'll get hit again" by terrorists. This election, the entire GOP aim is to scare up big voter turnout. How do they plan on doing that? By dragging out the guy who Bush claimed he frankly just doesn't think very much about... why, it is Osama, of course: The GOP will begin airing a hard-hitting ad (if you're a complete moron, it could be thought of as hard hitting, Those of us with brains in our heads will call it what it is: Old & tired recycled fear mongering vomit) this weekend that warns of more cataclysmic terror attacks against the US homeland. OMG! Will it come in the form of that mushroom cloud Condi warned us about? Oh right... that was her fear mongering about Saddam. The ad portrays Osama bin Laden and quotes his threats against America dating to February 1998. Feb of '98? OMG... wasn't Clinton getting a bj back in '98? The ad concludes: "These are the stakes. Vote November 7." B/c if you don't vote for us, Osama will remain either dead or happily wandering the earth as a free man.., frankly we could care less about either option... but you had better bet your boots we'll dust him off and drag his ass out again in 2008. The ad displays an array of quotes from bin Laden and his top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahri, that include bin Laden's Dec. 26, 2001 vow that "what is yet to come will be even greater." The ad also cites al-Zawahri's claim to have obtained "some suitcase bombs," followed by a scene that appears to show a nuclear explosion. Oohh... maybe he blew up his deadly shampoo... or dastdardly lip gloss... or the oh-so-dangerous breast milk in his suitcase? Despite al-Zawahri's claim, portable nuclear devices are believed to be particularly difficult to produce and elusive to rogue regimes and terror groups. Facts schmacts. Stop confusing my mind with the truth. The ad is also featured on the RNC's Web site. The party said the ad, called "The Stakes," will be e-mailed to millions of GOP supporters, activists and the state parties... and the gullible will gobble it down with a heaping serving of Kool-Aid. Mmmm... Grape flavored fear.

Foley scandal... but let's compare/ contrast former sex scandals: Gerry Studds & Dan Crane

As the Foley scandal gets some fresh scandal breathed into it (1) Trandahl testified, 2) Boehner tossed Hastert under the bus again, and 3) the priest Foley claims molested him 'fesses up and get this: this priest claims he was on pills and drunk, too!), this post is in response to the GOP wingnuts who want to parade out now deceased (since last wk in fact) former Congressman Gerry Studds (D-MA) who had a sex with a 17 yr old male page in the 1970s. Now keep in mind that the info that Studds had sex with this page didn't surface until the page was 27 yrs old, and when it did, the former page publicly stood beside Studds and defended their relationship as consensual (I don't care. 17 yrs old is a kid, so consent gets tossed out the window, but the 27 yr old claimed it was consensual). After it was discovered that Studds did this, he was censured by the House, and remained in office for MA until he retired. Now what Repukes fail to tell you is this: The "other" censure that occurred the same day that Studds was censured by the House: Republican Rep. Dan Crane, who represented a district in southern IL, was also censured for an illicit relationship with a 17yr old female page. Crane had gone so far as to move the high school junior into an apartment in Georgetown. After 8 months, she ended the relationship and told her parents. At the censure hearing, Crane was defended by fellow IL Republican Henry Hyde, who would, 15 yrs later, chair the impeachment hearings against Pres Clinton. According to transcripts, Hyde implored his fellow representatives that Crane had suffered the loss of his reputation and probably his marriage, and that as good Christians, we are all taught to "hate the sin but love the sinner." "My friends," he said, "it’s time we showed Dan Crane some love and allow him to keep his seat in this body." Instead of kicking Crane out, the House voted censure..... throw THAT into the face of any self righteous hypocrite Repukes who try to pull the "But that Democrat Gerry Studds did this" crap. Watch 'em immediately sputter and shut up.

Blackwell is officially lower than whale shit: Purges 1000s voters off rolls & now accusing Strickland of being gay & covering up pedophilia

Now according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Ted Strickland holds a substantial lead against Repuke wingnut Blackwell (the news is also equally good for Sherrod Brown vs Mike DeWine). Keep this news in mind. News has surfaced that in addition to trying to toss Strickland off the ballot on a technicality, Blackwell has purged 1000s of Ohio voters from the voter rolls. But why would the man who wrote this very letter which announced that the state of OH was going to be hand delivered to Bush before the counting of the votes even took place do a thing like that? For the same reason that this lower than whale shit scum calls the very married for 18 yrs Rev. Ted Strickland "gay" and tries to insinuate that Strickland "covered-up" for and/or was sexually involved w/ a former aide (who was found guilty of indecent exposure yet the record was expunged) into some kind of pedophilia cover-up (in actuality, the guy was caught streaking in college at Ohio University in Athens, OH, but sure... let's lie and call it pedophilia.) In full disclosure: I went to OU. Drunken or sober streaking was mild and rather common place for the school rated a "Party School" for nearly 2 decades by Playboy Magazine. I hate to break it to you hypocritical morally bankrupt Repukes: 1) You do not have the right to handpick voters off of voter rolls. It's bad enough you repressed as many voters as possible in the 2004 election. And 2) Strickland is NOT gay. He was not buggering his former aide or covering up for a pedophile. No Blackwell, us Dems leave the pedophilia & pedophilic cover-ups to professionals like you and your repugnant Repukes. Always remember: KY is the personal lubricant of the GOP. It keeps the pages from sticking together.

70 US troops dead since Oct 1st

Bush actually admits that a comparison between Iraq and Vietnam and the 1968 Tet offensive may be accurate, while the soulless and/or delusional Cheney tells Rush Limpballs that things are going "remarkably well" in Iraq, and all the while the death toll for US troops is 70 for the period between Oct 1st to the 18th. Why doesn't Cheney opens his forked tongue mouth and ask the families of those US dead how they think things are going? I'm sure they're not so different from the 64% who say they now oppose the war.

Olbermann's Special Comment: The Military Commissions Act & loss of Habeas Corpus

I honestly believe this is Keith Olbermann's best Special Comment yet. Truly... Keith has outdone himself. And yet sadly, I fear most of America will willingly choose to remain in their collective coma... until they or their loved ones are deemed "Unlawful Enemy Combatants" by either this president... or a future one. Never forget... the Romans didn't think their beloved "Little Boots" Caligula was such a sick, twisted, sociopathic cutthroat murdering monster until it was too late, either.

Under Saddam, Iraqi Christians co-existed peacefully. Now?... they are fleeing in horror

Atta boy Bush! I'd love to see your "values voters" defend this: "Christianity took root in Iraq near the dawn of the faith 2000 yrs ago, making Iraq home to one of the world’s oldest Christian communities. The country is rich in biblical significance: scholars believe the Garden of Eden described in Genesis was in Iraq; Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldees, a city in Iraq; the city of Nineveh that the prophet Jonah visited after being spit out by a giant fish was in Iraq. Both Chaldean Catholics & Assyrian Christians, the country’s largest Christian sects, still pray in Aramaic, the language of Jesus. They have long been a tiny minority amid a sea of Islamic faith, but under Saddam, Iraq’s million or so Christians for the most part co-existed peacefully w/ Muslims, both the dominant Sunnis and the majority Shiites. But since Saddam's ouster, Christians have been subjected to a steady stream of church bombings, assassinations, kidnappings and threatening letters slipped under their doors giving them mere hrs to flee or else be killed. In 1987 (the last time an Iraqi census was taken) there were 1.4 million Christians in Iraq. Most estimates say that there are approx 600,000 in Iraq now. But most of them are too scared to attend church and veil their females to avoid detection." Well... given that the beheaded and dismembered body of Father Boulos Iskander, a Syrian Orthodox priest of St Ephram's parish in Iraq, was just found in a suburb of Mosul... yeah... I think they do have plenty of reason to be scared shitless. But where is the outcry from the Religious Fright about these Christians being killed? We know they won't say a single word about the 100s of 1000s deaths of Muslim and secular Iraqis, but since these are the same people who mysteriously claim that Christians are always being persecuted, shouldn't they speak up about this? Oh that's right... the Religious Fright and BushCo's base could care less about the plight of these folks b/c they are all just "dirty ragheads" to them, no matter no what.

What's next for these BushCo freaks? Will they just whip it out and take a dump on the Magna Carta, too?

Ohio Sec of St Blackwell is a nutjob. Invokes NAMBLA & tries to disqualify opponent Ted Strickland from election

"J is for Judas" Kenneth Blackwell, OH's current Sec of State and Repuke candidate for Gov is actually trying to get his oppenent, Democrat Ted Strickland (who is nearly 30 pts ahead of Blackwell in the polls in the race for OH's Gov) taken off the ticket on a technicality... while using his capacity of Sec of State to do so!! Fellow Ohioans swear that it will not happen-- that Strickland will be on the ballot, but given that this is THE very same man who assured Bush & Cheney in 2004 that he would make sure that Ohio went for Bush, how in the hell do we really know what unspeakable shit this freak is capable of? And to make matters even worse, Blackwell is smearing Strickland by claiming that Strickland has the endorsement of NAMBLA... yes THAT NAMBLA... and no, I ain't referring to South Park's North American Marlon Brando Look-alike Association. See Blackwell swarmy's smear and Strickland's fierce response to that smear here. And forget the fact that the North American Man/Boy Love Association doesn't even exist anymore... except of course in the minds of the pedophilic obsessed in the Grand Old Perverts party. I wonder if Mark Foley or any of the other pedophilic Repukes have showed Blackwell the secret handshake?

Brent Schepp, GOP Pedophile and Hastert supporter, kills self after being indicted

Holy cripes! Speaking of GOP perverts: Remember that GOP Kane County, IL pedophile, Brent Schepp, who was indicted on 26 counts of sexual assault and abuse of 2 young girls, and had the "Denny Hastert for Congress" sign in his yard? Well... according to the Armchair Subversive, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that he killed himself Tuesday by slamming his vehicle into a bridge. I don't know if he was married and had kids (I assume he was since his so-called family values were so heralded by his fellow Repukes) but I can only imagine how awful all of this has been for them. Granted, his selfish and criminal actions completely brought it all upon them, but I can't imagine how awful it is nonetheless.

Religious Fright pissed at Condi... she dared to be civil to gay men!

Last wk, USA Today reported: "At a State Dept swearing-in ceremony, Sec of State Condi Rice warmly acknowledged the family members of Mark Dybul, the nation's new global AIDS coordinator. As first lady Laura Bush looked on, Rice singled out Dybul's partner, Jason Claire, and Claire's mother, and referred to her as Dybul's "mother-in-law." 2 yrs after an election the GOP won in part by making gay marriage an issue and less than 2 wks after revelations about GOPer Foley's advances toward teenage boys, a politically awkward fact of life is being exposed: some GOP leaders practice a more tolerant brand of politics in their office hiring than some in the party have preached on the campaign trail." Oh my. The hypocrisy of it all. Well, never fear. The Culture Warriors at the Family Research Council will slap on their superhero gay-hating capes and save the day for us heteros! (seriously, ya can't believe how many frickin times they manage to toss the word "homosexual" into a paragraph): "Peter Sprigg, vice pres for policy at the Family Research Council, says he is disgusted w/ Sec of State Rice's swearing in of an openly homosexual man as global AIDS coordinator, and in particular w/ comments she made at the ceremony that provide a very pointed example of how the GOP seems to want the support of "values voters," but are willing to appease the homosexual activist agenda. *GASP!*... Oh no! not. the. deadly. gay. agenda! Oh yes... but it is: " The Washington Blade, a pro-homosexual publication in the nation's capital, was accurate on Friday when it predicted Rice's remarks would "raise the eyebrows of conservative Christian leaders." Peter Sprigg says the secretary's comments were "profoundly offensive" and fly in the face of the Bush admin's endorsement of a federal marriage protection amendment, and added that Rice's comments defy an existing law on the books protecting traditional marriage. "For her to treat his homosexual partner like a spouse and treat the partner's mother as a mother-in-law, which implies a marriage between the 2 partners, is a violation of the spirit if not the letter of the Defense of Marriage Act." So daring to speak-- to call a gay man's partner's mom his MIL-- is a violation of DOMA? And to think, I merely thought it was exercising Condi's rights to free speech. But wait... it gets even worse: "We have to face the fact that putting a homosexual in charge of AIDS policy is a bit like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse," says Sprigg. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the fox wanted to be in charge of the henhouse so he could EAT all of the hens. By Prig's... err... I mean Sprigg's logic, that must mean that Dybul wants to EAT all of the AIDS, no? OMG! Noooo! But wait just a minute. I can top even that one.. and this one involves THE BIBLE: "Dybul, who was confirmed by the Senate 2 months ago but was just sworn in due to scheduling conflicts w/ Sec Rice and Mrs. Bush, is the nation's 3rd openly homosexual ambassador. The other 2 no longer hold their positions. According to news reports, in all 3 cases the men's homosexual partners held the Bible on which the oath of office was sworn." O. M. F. G. They dared to hold the Bible? And it didn't burst into flames when their sinning hands touched it? Well... it just must have been one of those new fangled asbestos Bibles then b/c Leviticus knows, it would've spontaneously combusted otherwise, so sayeth the Lord!

How many GOP pedophiles have "Hastert for Congress" signs in their front lawns?

Jesus' General has a priceless pix of a "Hastert for Congress" sign in the front lawn of yet ANOTHER Repuke who is publicly caught messing with kids. The only difference? This time the kiddos are female (via Jesus'General): "Brent K. Schepp, is the Repub candidate for the Kane County, IL Board. Here are his qualifications: "Schepp's devotion to the American family is one of his greatest selling points. That's why the Kane County Republican Committee highlighted it on their candidates page, writing: "He understands the needs of today's families and is qualified to lead Kane County into the future." Well... how deeply he understands the needs of today's families is subject to speculation in light of these facts that Jesus' Gen unveils: "More importantly, Schepp is not a homosexual, and as of Friday, he has the rap sheet of 26 counts against him (14 counts of criminal sexual assault, 10 counts of criminal sexual abuse and 2 counts of unlawful delivery of alcohol to a minor) to prove it." Phew! Since his victims were girls (and I'm sure they'll say the girls were lil sluts and begging for it), the GOP and Religious Fright must be having orgasms of joy and giving each other high fives that at least he had the "good sense" to lust after children of the opposite sex.

Weldon cries foul over FBI raids. Boo frickety hoo!

FBI agents raided the homes of Rep Curt Weldon's (PA-R) daughter and her business partner, Curt Weldon's longtime friend Charlie Sexton as part of an investigation into whether Rep Weldon helped them secure lucrative lobbying contracts. And who does Rep Weldon say is responsible? No... shockingly NOT Clinton... but of course, it just has to be those damned partisan Dems trying to mess up his election! Umm. Rep Weldon? You are aware that the Justice Dept was alerted about these allegations 2 and a half yrs ago. This is a Justice Dept that's run by the Repubs. Attorney Gen, Alberto Gonzalez and the deputy attorney general are Repukes, and it was THEM who decided to raid the daughter's home /offices and associates 3 wks before an election. This wasn't a decision made by that mythical liberal media or by some other watchdog group. This was a decision made by the Republican-led Justice Dept, so STFU, quit your damn whining and buy your daughter a damn good lawyer.

Married? You're a minority since Bush took office

Who knew that being a happily married woman with one kid, another on the way, a mortgage, 2 cars, and several credit cards would make me a minority? Well... in BushWorld it does: "According to the Census Bureau's 2005 American Community Survey (which was released in August but largely escaped public attention until now because of the large volume of data) the number of traditional households with married couples at their core stood at slightly more than 55.2 million, or 49.8% of the total. Marriage did not figure in nearly 55.8 million American family households, or 50.2%. More than 14 million of them were headed by single women, another 5 million by single men, while 36.7 million belonged to a category described as "nonfamily households," a term that experts said referred primarily to gay or heterosexual couples cohabiting while not formally joined in legal wedlock. In addition, there were more than 30 million unmarried men and women living alone, who are not categorized as families. And which states have the MOST unmarried couples living together? Surprise surprise! It is in the Bible Belt of the South. To see the stats state by state, check out the NYTs link. Wait a minute... here comes the zinger: "The trend represented a dramatic change from just 6 yrs ago, when married couples made up 52% of 105.5 million American households." Oh snap! Who came into power 6 yrs ago? Ahh yes. Mr Family Values himself: Bush and his cabal of ghouls and fiends who have done more to destroy and screw over the Middle Class American family in order to fatten up the wallets of the wealthy than anyone else before them.: "It indicated that efforts by Pres Bush and his GOP allies, who over the past 5 yrs have made a concerted effort to shore up traditional marriage and families through tax breaks, special legislation and church-sponsored campaigns is bearing little or no fruit." Well... color me shocked! And even my uber-wingnut Repuke father-in-law who is a CPA (Hubby's parents refuse to speak to us or have anything to do their grand-daughter or their own son b/c I am Catholic, and Hubby and I are Dems. I know... I know... the nerve of us, huh?) has admitted that the Bush tax cuts really do nothing for the average American due to rising living costs and that it is actually far more financially adventatious for people to merely cohabitate or remain single, especially if they have children that they receive child support payments for, and/or if they receive alimony or social security or some kind of pension money. So... encouraging people to remain single or simply to live together due to America's deteriorating financial situation for the Middle Class seems to do FAR MORE damage to marriage than "The Gays" daring to get married to each other, huh? Has anyone told the wingnuts?

Separate Sunni state declared by insurgents

Oh yeah... things are going SWIMMINGLY in Iraq: Martial law and the dissolution of the Iraqi govt is a hair away from being declared and: "The Mujahideen Shura Council, the main umbrella group of insurgents, which includes al Qaeda in Iraq, has issued a video in which it declares a new nation -- the Islamic State of Iraq -- consisting of Iraq's Sunni provinces, Baghdad, and parts of some Shiite provinces. The Financial Times of London is reporting the same thing. Umm... If there was any doubt before that the carnage in Iraq is a civil war and that the country is heading toward formal division along religious/ethnic lines, this should dispel it, no? I wonder if Cheney will announce these guys are in their last throes, too? Think Rummy will announce that they are just a bunch of dead-enders? Add to this clusterfuck mess the ready to snap at any second situation between the Kurds and the Turks, and this Sept quote from Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan region: "If at any moment we, the Kurdish people and parliament, consider that it is in our interests to declare independence, we will do so and we will fear no one." and you have what?... say it louder... A CIVIL WAR. And who is caught in the middle of it all? Our troops and 100s of 1000s of Iraqis. Atta boy Bush... b/c fucking up our own country just wasn't enough for you. Oh well... don't despair. Experts are now saying that the best that can be hoped for in Iraq is a stable theocracy. Yes. A stable theocracy. Maybe somebody should tell this guy that. He lost his face in Iraq. He might just be a tad bit bitter that he sacrificed his face for..... a fricking stable theocracy.

Pumpkin hunting in Amish country

Here's BabyGirl taking a breather amidst a sea of pumpkins. We may hate our state of Ohio's sea of corrupt Repukes, but we LOVED to spend yesterday in our gorgeous Ohio fall weather at a pumpkin farm. It lies just inside an Amish- Mennonite community about 30 mins from our home, and in addition to offering miles of pumpkins to choose from, they give hay rides, pony rides, allow you to walk thru their barns and visit their chickens, horses, cows, goats, and sheep, and sell fabulous blooming mums in pots, candy and popcorn balls. In addition to our 3 giant pumpkins, BabyGirl and I bought a handful of Chupa-Chups whistle pops and drove Hubby to near insanity as we screeched these whistles the entire ride home. Once home, we built a fire in the Ben Franklin stove, ate hot bowls of chili that had been cooking all day in the crock pot, and then bundled up in blankets and took very needed naps in front of the fire... a perfect family day.

Round-up of latest GOP news & scandals

1) Experts are saying that the best that can be hoped for in Iraq is a stable theocracy. Seriously... a freaking stable theocracy. Sweet Jesus. What the hell have all those Iraqi and US lives been lost/ maimed for? 2) Well, well, well... It looks like Barney and Laura do want Bush to cut and run straight outta Iraq. 3) Federal officials are investigating allegations that Gov Mitt Romney's administration (R-MA) falsely claimed to conduct safety inspections in the Big Dig tunnel that collapsed and killed a woman in July. 4) Rep Curt Weldon (R-PA) is being investigated to see if he greased the palms of contacts to get his daughter million dollar contracts. 5) Rep Bob Ney (R-OH) pleads guilty to his Abramoff bribes, yet refuses to resign and the corruption happy Repukes refuse to demand his resignation, and it appears that RNC chairman Ken Mehlman was in waaay deep w/ Abramoff. 6) Fundies are scapegoating gays for the GOP Foley cover-up, and are attacking fellow fundie/ Bush admin Faith-Based official David Kuo for daring to tell the truth about BushCo using the Religious Fright just to get their votes.

Chris Shays (R-CT) defends Hastert's cover-up of pedophilia by invoking 1969's Chappaquidick... what about Laura Bush's 1963 fatal car accident?

When you have to bring up Kennedy's Chappaquidick incident in order to defend a GOP pedophilia cover-up, how bad does the election situation have to be?(via TPM): "Rep Chris Shays is calling Sen Ted Kennedy a killer. The Hartford Courant reports that Shays lashed out at Kennedy while defending Speaker of the House Hastert's handling of Foleygate. Kennedy campaigned for Shays' Dem foe Diane Farrell last wk. Shays, referring to Kennedy's 1969 car accident, said: "I know the speaker didn't go over a bridge and leave a young person in the water, and then have a press conference the next day. Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody." Hastert didn't kill anybody? Hastert has been the Speaker of the House for 6 yrs. Whether or not he has blood on his hands is certainly a matter of interpretation. But besides all of that, Chappaquidick happened in 1969. If we're going to dig up old stuff that involves cars and dead folks, why not bring up Laura Bush's 1963 car accident in Midland TX when the then Laura Welch ran a stop sign at an intersection, crashed into her boyfriend's car, broke his neck, killed him, and received not as much as a ticket? Seems to me that Laura got away with murder, huh? But notice the Repuke habitual hypocrites neglect to mention that. I think the Repubs should all use this in their campaign ads. "Sure, we all covered up the fact that one of our guys was a sexual predator going after young boys, but hey, at least we didn't kill anybody!" Well... at least they haven't killed anybody in a car... err... scratch that... at least they haven't killed anybody on a BRIDGE in a car... err... scratch that... at least they haven't killed anybody on a BRIDGE in a CAR that was in America and NOT Iraq. But how will these same hypocrites defend Karl Rove twisting Foley's arm to stay in his congressional seat --AFTER Foley annnounced in early 06 that he wanted to retire to become a lobbyist and certainly AFTER how many Repukes knew about and covered up his trolling for boys-- so that the GOP could keep control of the House AND Rove's secret pledge to give millions to the NRCC? Besides the usual Blame it all on Clinton" crap, I'm sure they will somehow defend Rove's actions by enacting a "Gay Purge from the GOP." It will appease the Religious Fright, and who knows?... maybe they will even dig out those spiffy pink triangle badges that the Nazis used so they can all immediately identify 'The Gays" and their vast secret homo conspiracy?

Doh! Bush loyalist James Baker's panel says victory ruled out in Iraq

Hmm, when longtime Bush crime loyalist & sycophant James Baker says that victory is not a possibility in Iraq, I guess that staying the course will have to become cut and run, huh? Yikes! Whatever will bloodthirsty Murtha attacking War Fans like Jean the Wrinkled Prune Schmidt say about Baker, now? And what will Schmidt-stay the course types say about the current Head of the British Army & Chief of the General Staff, saying that "British troops must withdraw from Iraq soon or risk catastophic consequences for both Iraq and British society"? These "get the hell out of Iraq" announcements makes ya wonder how much of a clusterfuck trainwreck lies in wait for us if this is true: "In late Sept, The Nation magazine reported that the Pentagon had "moved up the deployment of a major "strike group" of ships, including the nuclear aircraft carrier Eisenhower as well as a cruiser, destroyer, frigate, submarine escort and supply ship, to head for the Persian Gulf, just off Iran's western coast." And, Buzzflash.com reports that the carrier group has already sailed and is scheduled to arrive in the vicinity of Iran around October 21, at the same time as a second flotilla of minesweepers and other ships." Who knows? Maybe the entire grand plan is to toss us into another quagmire/no victory ever possible war so that Bush can just call off the Nov elections and proclaim his kingly powers to infinity and beyond?

It is official: Bush is completely disconnected from reality

Weds, while languishing forever in my OB/GYN's office for a pregnancy check-up, I thumbed thru a maternity themed magazine, and a small article about personality disorders caught my eye. The gist of the article was this: Sociopaths are manipulative. They do not feel empathy. They lack conscience. They possess the uncanny ability to make their failings appear to us to be our faults. And we are inclined often to give the sociopath the benefit of the doubt because we want to believe them. They have somehow convinced us they really have our best interest at heart, when nothing could be farther from the truth. Does it sound so eerily familiar that you're pissing your knickers? I was especially struck by how true this despcription fits Bush and his minions against the horrific info that 655,000 Iraqis have been killed since the war began, almost 3000 US troops have been killed, and yet Bush puffs out his chest and crows about being a pro-life Christian. And little did I know that the news of the day would reinforce the article's exact same spooky points: 1) Via Think Progress: Weds in his press conference, Bush applauded the courage of Iraqis, stating that he is "amazed that this is a society which so wants to be free that they’re willing to — you know, that there’s a level of violence that they tolerate." In reality, 890,000 Iraqis have moved to Jordan, Iran and Syria since Saddam's fall and more than 300,000 have fled to other parts of Iraq to escape the violence. Additionally, 71% of Iraqis want US forces to leave Iraq within a year, saying "they would feel safer if US and other foreign forces left Iraq." Iraqis aren’t "tolerating" the violence. They’re just trying to survive. 2) Via RawStory: In a Rose Garden press conference, Bush blasted a new study that estimates 655,000 Iraqis have died because of the war since March of 2003 as "just not credible." The President wouldn't provide a figure for overall fatalities in Iraq to counter the study but conceded that "a lot of innocent people have lost their life." Wow, That was awfully generous of him, no? 3) In regards to the Foley scandal, Bush defended Hastert and said: Bush slammed former congressman Foley's "disgusting behavior," but defended House Speaker Hastert as "very credible"and added that "we want to make sure we understand what Republicans knew and what Democrats knew in order to find the facts." It is real easy: The Dems knew ZERO and the Repukes knew every nasty detail, they did nothing about it, and they covered up to save their precious party. 4) Taking a cue from the GOP's professional fluffer, John McCain, Bush blamed Clinton for Bush's 6 yr failures in dealing w/N Korea. And keep in mind... this was just one day's worth of news, which ended so "sweetly" for Bush w/a lovely fake handshake and even faker smile session of photo ops w/ the Southern Baptist church. I have to wonder if his mentally insane base-- the Religious Fright-- will see Bush's complete disconnect from reality when a new book comes out next wk (Tempting Faith, written by Bush's #2 guy Brian Kuo in the Office of Faith Based initiatives in the White House) that exposes the Bush cabal's utter contempt for evangelicals and how he and his minions have repeatedly used them just to get their votes? Probably not.... sigh... I'm sure even THAT will be blamed on Clinton.

News out of Iraq just gets better: New study says 600,000 dead Iraqis since we invaded in '03

As if things weren't bad enough in Iraq, we now have a US ammunitions base blowing up in Baghdad: "It was not clear whether the depot at Forward Operating Base Falcon was hit by an attack, and the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Explosions from detonating tank and artillery ordnance and small-arms ammunition stored at the site went off for hrs after the fire broke out, and the Pentagon is claiming that there are no casualities." OK, if there are no casualties, that is great news... but how much of our ammunition and urgently needed supplies simply went up in smoke? And what kind of toxic air from those burning weapons is now floating around that base and the immediate Iraqi neighborhoods? Add to that news this absolutely unspeakable horrific news: "A new Johns Hopkins study, published in The Lancet and compiled by a team of American and Iraqi public health researchers, has estimated that 600,000 civilians have died in violence across Iraq since the 2003 US invasion." Now according to CBS News: "One of the most commonly cited numbers for those killed by Saddam Hussein seems to be 300,000." As horrifying as that number is, please keep in mind that it took 23 yrs of Saddam's dictatorship to reach that bloody total. Even if the 600K number is 50% wrong, that would make the number killed since we've invaded as equal to the number Saddam has killed. And yet we still wonder why the Iraqis despise us and want to toss dynamite at us instead of chocolates, flowers, and fuzzy bunnies? The mortality rate before the American invasion in '03 was about 5.5 people per 1000 per yr. What is that mortality rate now? It has risen to 19.8 deaths per 1000 people in the yr ending in June. And in case anyone wants to question the methods used to collect the data in the study, here is a quick yet detailed explanation of how the 1st study (published in Oct 2004) was conducted that came to the conclusion that 100,000 Iraqis had been killed. How will the War Fans explain away this 600K number? With a nifty lil catch phrase like this: 'We Had to Kill Them to Save Them from that Murderous Saddam' ? How will Bush explain away this 600K number? Think he'll smack his empty head and say: "Uhhh... when I talked about that comma thingy, I really meant the comma in the number 600,000." As awful as the nearly 3000 US troop dead total is (video here), 600K is beyond the pale of horror. Put it in proportion to Iraqi population vs US population: There are 26 million Iraqis. 600K have been killed. There are 300 million Americans. If this were happening to the US at the hands of a foreign invader and occupiers, there would have to be nearly 7 million of us dead for the impact to be equivalent. How many 9/11's would have to happen to equal 7 million dead? May God somehow forgive us for what we've unleashed on the Iraqi people.

McCain blames N Korea on Clinton

BushCo fluffer John McCain blames.... who else?.... Pres Clinton for N Korea's nuke test. Hmm... maybe if McCain got off his knees long enough, he'd take the time to notice this (via Jesus' General): "The US govt has announced that it will release $95m to N Korea as part of an agreement to replace the Stalinist country's own nuclear programme, which the US suspected was being misused. Under the 1994 Agreed Framework an internatl consortium is building 2 proliferation-proof nuclear reactors and providing fuel oil for N Korea while the reactors are being built. In releasing the funding, Pres George W Bush waived the Framework's requirement that N Korea allow inspectors to ensure it has not hidden away any weapons-grade plutonium from the original reactors. Bush argued that the decision was "vital to the natl security interests of the United States". If this is making your head spin, JG sums it up best: "Don't despair over N Korea's nuclear test. It's part of Our Leader's plan to build a case for bombing Iran. That's why he waived N Korea's inspection requirements back in 2002. Why would Our Leader bomb Iran to punish N Korea? For the same reason he attacked Iraq to punish Al Qaeda. It's what emperors do."

Never lose sight of the real issue: Clinton got a blowjob

In light of the complete disconnect the Religious Frighters have in regards to acknowledging the blatant crimes, misdeeds, and cover-ups of their beloved Repukes and Bush, in light of the fact that 60 bodies have been dumped in the last 24 hrs in Baghdad and the brother of the Iraqi vice president has been assassinated, in light of James Baker-- longtime Bush crime family sycophant and loyalist-- is telling all who will listen that we have got to change our policy in Iraq b/c the bloodletting is turning into a raging hemmorhage, in light of the fact that N Korea just tested a nuclear weapon on Bush's watch and we can't do jack about it b/c we have a pres who refuses to even speak to N Korea and who is too busy blaming Iran for having nukes and is too bogged down w/ the bloodletting in Iraq, and who gets blamed?-- yep... you guessed it: Clinton, in light of the fact that poll numbers at CNN, & the NYTs/ CBS show that Bush and the GOP are tanking, yet I'm still more sure than ever that Diebold will hand another election to them... especially after reading this, in light of all of this, I give you "Clinton Got a Blow Job." Hat tip to Karena for posting it first and giving me a much needed laugh. And always remember, no matter what these GOP ghouls do, let us never never forget that Clinton got a blow job.

Hey GOP: What about this news? 100s of bodies found in Tigris & 100s of Iraqi police poisoned at base & 30 US troops dead since Oct 1st

Funny, but I don't recall hearing about any news of this kind outta Condi Rice's forked tongued mouth when she was in Iraq last wk, do you?: "In the nearby town of Swaira (20 miles S.E. of Baghdad), police have collected 339 bodies of men, women and children from the filters of the Tigris River that are supposed to prevent lily pads, known as "Nile flower," from traveling down-river and clogging canals vital to farmers for irrigating Iraq's south." Surely, the evangelicals, who name aborion as their number one cause celebre, care about the deaths of the young, right?: "Most of the corpses are young people who have been shot and then hacked to pieces. "Every day, we find bodies in the river," an official at the Swaira police force's crime dept told ABC News." Oh that's right. Repukes and Religious Frighters only claim to care about fetuses in utero. Once folks are born, they could care less WTF happens to 'em. And if the dead are young Muslims or Middle Easterners, they really could care less. So much for professing a heartfelt "love of life in Jesus' name", huh? Well, surely they care about this: 30 US troops have been killed since Oct 1st. Naw. As long as it isn't their kids, they could care less. Okay. THIS news has to force them to take notice since the BushCo claim is that as the Iraqi forces stand up, we'll stand down: "100s of Iraqi policemen fell ill from poisoning Sunday after having their evening meal at a base located in the town of Numaniyah, in southern Iraq. Iraqi officials said: 100s of soldiers were poisoned after taking food and water w/the meal that breaks the sunrise-to-sunset Ramadan fast. Some of the policemen began bleeding from the ears and nose after the meal, some collapsed as soon as they stood up from the meal, and others fell "one after the other" as they headed out to the yard in the base to line up in formation. Between 600-700 policemen were affected to varying degrees, and 11 who had the heaviest amount of the food had died. Iraqi ambulances and helicopters sent by the US military rushed the policemen to hospitals in Numaniyah and the nearby city of Kut." Hmm... so our helicopters had to fly these poisoned police to hospitals. Think Rummy will discuss that w/reporters? Of course not. All we get to hear is what a roaring success Iraq is, despite reality and despite the fact that Bush & Condi are telling the Iraqi govt that the GOP grand plan really is cut and run. And let's just gloss over the harsh reality that if we hadn't have launched this unnecessary war of Bush's own making, we could actually do something about N Korea's successful nuclear testing, huh? Oh that's right. We ignore nations that actually conduct nuclear tests. Instead, we just focus on Iran -who doesn't actually possess any nuclear weapons- & is yrs away from being able to conduct any tests.

In NYTs: Religious Fright still heart their child molesting GOP

According to the NYTs: Evangelicals blame Foley, not the Republicans for Foley's pedophilia scandal and coverup. In fact, in case you forget how truly mentally ill Bush's base is, read the entire article. It contains truly memorable Religious Fright quotes like this: "Scott O’Connell, who described himself as a fundamentalist. "But there is a bigger moral issue which I would say is the prism I view this through: I do not believe in homosexuality." Okay... so I guess a cover up of that homosexual's pedophilic crimes IS acceptable to you and you can believe in those who did the coverup, huh? Or what about this gem?: David Thomas, said that the scandal only reinforced his conservative Christian convictions. "That is the problem we have in society. Nobody polices anybody. Everybody has a 'right' to do whatever." Oh... I see. The REAL problem is that we're not POLICING anybody. What would he suggest? Govt cameras a la Big Brother bolted to everyone's forehead? Maybe then we would all see how in fact, the GOP leadership DID give Foley "the right" to do whatever. I have to wonder how those Kool-Aid guzzlers could explain away this from the WashPost: Rep. Kolbe (R) shown sexually explicit Foley emails in the yr 2000! Oh that's right... it is simply just somehow all mysteriously Dem Nancy's Pelosi's fault. Maybe these delusional devoted need to just talk a gander at Dem Rahm Emanuel as he cuts off the GOP defense of Foley off at the knees. I pray that TIME is correct and that the days of the "Republican Revolution" and their stranglehold on the 3 branches of govt are severely numbered. But how many freaking scandals and crimes do these insane poeple need before they realize that their party is rotten w/ corruption?... including this new breaking GOP scandal about Rep Duncan Hunter.

With one signing statement, Bush tells Congress& America: Fuck you. I am so the boss of you

Well, it is 100% official: The United States of America is no longer a democratic republic. We are now a dictatorship (via Yahoo): "In the law Bush signed Weds, Congress stated no one but the privacy officer could alter, delay or prohibit the mandatory annual report on Homeland Security dept activities that affect privacy, including complaints. But Bush, in a signing statement attached to the agency's 2007 spending bill, said he will interpret that section "in a manner consistent with the President's constitutional authority to supervise the unitary executive branch." Wha-wha-what?? So Congress specifically stated that no one but the privacy officer could alter, delay or prohibit the mandatory annual report on Homeland Security dept activities that affect privacy, including complaints, but then Bush turns around and has the gall to say that he has the power to do the very thing Congress JUST said only one person (not him, mind you!) had the power to do? So why in the hell do we even have Congress? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 3 branches of govt are equals. They are meant to monitor and keep one another in check. Congress explicitly stated that Bush was NOT the person who had the right and/or ability to do this b/c they want to keep the executive branch in check, and then Bush simply wipes it all away with a signing statement? But wait... it gets worse, and I didn't even realize until I read this: "So when pesky Congress actually TRIES to monitor the executive branch...well....access denied. Oh, and it gets worse. You'd think after Katrina, FEMA'd be a no-brainer. A political hot potato that Bush wouldn't mess with. Well, you're wrong. Congress tried....Bush just denied: "Bush's signing statement Weds challenges several other provisions in the Homeland Security spending bill. Bush, for example, said he'd disregard a requirement that the director of the Fedl Emergency Management Agency must have at least 5 yrs experience and "demonstrated ability in and knowledge of emergency management and homeland security." His rationale was that it "rules out a large portion of those persons best qualified by experience and knowledge to fill the office." That bolded statement may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Ignoring the "5 yr experience minimum" because it may rule out the best candidates? WTF? By the way, how can you just "disregard" the fucking LAW?? Somebody please...please...stop this madness." My sentiments exactly. Here I was feeling fairly good after watching Keith Olbermann's latest fabulous bitchslapping comment on Bush (truly... it is a masterpiece. Video and transcript here. It covers everything from Foley's fiasco to the torture bill to Bush's pre-election let's keep "scaring 'em silly" bullshit) and then I go reading about this signing statement, and my brief happy turns to a burning pit in my stomach. All Bush needs to do now is cancel the elections and he will be the DICTATOR he has so wanted to be... and of course... his bloodsucking sycophant congressional Repukes will borrow McCain's kneepads and lubricant, tell Americans that this anal rape is for their own good, and meekly accept that Der Bushler has effectively told them that he is so the boss of them and defend their King Despot-- no matter what he does and no matter how much he violates the oath for which he placed his hand upon the Bible and swore to uphold our Constitution. America... I thought that the chucking aside of habeas corpus with that trainwreck of a torture bill had nearly done you in. Guess I was wrong. I didn't see this colassal Constitutional clusterfuck coming down the pike would be the nail that puts you in your coffin.

Foley Scandal: And now for something completely different

Since this Foley PredatorGate is making us all so sick, and b/c Hastert has become unhinged and has truly taken this thing to the Outer Limits with his ridiculous bullshit claims that George Soros & Bill Clinton are behind Foley's fiasco, and that the pages who have come foward with this news are equal to terrorists, I believe it is now time for something completely different... Caught!: IMs between Hastert and Foley!... ya gotta see these to believe it... AND... Discovered!: Mark Foley's MySpace page!... ya gotta see this to believe it, too. And of course by believe, I mean enjoy with full bodied snark and perhaps even a lovely glass of full bodied wine.

24 Troops Killed since Saturday

I have to wonder if the GOP has been deliberately cranking up the heat on Foley's PredatorGate to take the awful focus off of this bloody tragedy (via WashPost): "13 US soldiers have been killed in Baghdad since Monday, the American military reported, registering the highest 2 day death toll for US forces in the capital since the start of the war. The latest losses -- 4 soldiers who were killed at 9 am Weds by small-arms fire -- are part of a recent spike in violent attacks against US forces that have claimed the lives of at least 24 soldiers and Marines in Iraq since Saturday, the military said. The number of planted bombs is "at an all-time high," said Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell, a military spokesman, defying American efforts to stanch the vicious sectarian bloodshed in Baghdad that threatens to plunge the country into civil war." Threaten to plunge the country into civil war? Is Gen Caldwell smoking crack? CBS News has obtained a US military intelligence report that outlines a sickening horror show that is going on in Baghdad's hospitals. Muqtada al-Sadr's militia now controls the hospitals and morgues and is turning them into torture chambers and killing fields... but wait... it gets even better: Hospitals have become command and control centers for the Mahdi Army militia. Sunni patients are being openly murdered; some are dragged from their beds. The militia is keeping hostages inside some hospitals, where they are tortured and executed. They're using ambulances to transport hostages and illegal weapons, and even to help their fighters escape from US forces. The dead's loved ones are often too frightened to set foot into morgues to claim their dead, so mass graves are overflowing. And just what is being done about the death squads that are operating in the Iraqi govt and among the Iraqi Police brigades, since it was announced just Weds that the Iraqi govt had to pull a brigade of around 800 or more policemen that have ties to death squads, you ask? Why, Gen Caldwell is "re-training" them, of course:" Caldwell disclosed that some 800 to 1,200 officers would be removed from posts in northwestern Baghdad and sent to a US military forward operating base for "anti-militia and anti-sectarian" training." Ah, I see. They will be re-trained at a US base... WTF does that even mean and how the hell do you retrain people to stop being members of a militia's death squad? As Iraqi blogger NZ suggested: "Can someone send your senators what this guy doing there. He should execute them, not give then more training. They are killers and should sent to court with Saddam and should be punished." I guess since our own govt so frowns upon habeas corpus and following the Geneva Coventions, charging these guys with crimes and trying them in a court of law and then punishing them according to that court of law is NOT high on the "Things to do to prevent utter chaos and descent into hell" list in Iraq. But hey... as cold blooded reptilian Neo-Con/ Patriot Act- mastermind John Yoo said on NPR's Morning Edition on Weds: "Well, habeas corpus proceedings... do impose a cost, it's not free." Funny... but the Repukes didn't give cost a single thought when they happily set aside a desperately needed $20 MILLION for an "Iraq is a Roaring Success" party, now did they?
