BabyGirl Medical Update

Here is BabyGirl on the family rm couch, watching SpongeBob w/ her "tiny" kitty. UPDATE: Hubby and I took BabyGirl to see her eye surgeon/ ophthlamologist Weds afternoon. Good news: Her eye muscles appear to be healing nicely, and in fact, she now needs a brand new Rx for her glasses... at half of the strength that they were before. Bad news: Our insurance will NOT be covering this new Rx at all. Even though her medical surgery has caused her to need new glasses, their reason is this: We only pay for 1 pair of new lenses/ frames once per calendar yr. She is not eligible for new lenses/ frames until Sept. No exceptions. We somewhat expected this given that they tried in vain to say that her eye surgery might be considered "cosmetic", despite the fact that if she didn't get the surgery, she would eventually go blind. But then some good news came about while discussing this w/ BabyGirl's doc: He is a vociferous liberal. We were discussing insurance and he said is 100% pro-universal healthcare. In addition to hating wedge issues and theocrats, he said he is tired of having insurance companies strongarm him into accepting their payments of pennies on the dollar, is tired of watching working class people who desperately need care slipping thru the cracks, and he brought up the story I posted yesterday about the "unlimited immigrant nurses" to say this: "How about we have unlimited educational opportunities for our own children so that there won't be a nursing shortage?" Give 'em hell Doc... and thanks for taking good care of our precious princess.
