Wednesday, May 24, 2006 FCC can't investigate NSA. It's Classified Sadly, this is now a familiar tale of the long arm of the Stasi policing themselves w/ that brushoff of : You can't investigate our plethora of questionable activities. No can do. It's classified. Just as the Justice Dept was thwarted investigating the NSA's domestic spying program because the NSA wouldn't provide security clearance to investigate, we now have this same spew from the FCC: The Fedrl Communications Commission will not pursue complaints about the NSA's access to millions of telephone records because it cannot obtain classified material. "The classified nature of the NSA's activities makes us unable to investigate the alleged violations," FCC Chrmn Kevin Martin said. So despite the citizen lawsuits, Dem Rep Edward Markey of MA, and the lone Dem on the FCC, Commissioner Michael Copps, all demanding that the FCC investigate, the minions of Il Duce Bush squelch it asap. Who is this Martin guy? Why he would be none other than the Repuke chair of the FCC, and a former Bush-Cheney campaign lawyer. of course. |
