Troops in Iraq say: Ramadi is out of control

Oh yeh... we've turned such an amazing corner in Iraq (via MSNBC): "In Ramadi whole neighborhoods are lawless, too dangerous for police. Some roads are so bomb-laden that US troops won’t use them. Guerrillas attack US troops nearly every time they venture out & hit their bases w/ gunfire, rockets or mortars when they don’t." How do our troops feel about this?: "It’s out of control,” says Army Sgt 1st Class Britt Ruble, behind the sandbags of an observation post in the capital of Anbar province. "We don’t have control of this ... we just don’t have enough boots on the ground." WHAT? Not enough boots on the ground to stop this out of control situation? Oh... that must be why Bush & Blair were just saying on Monday that we are going to reduce the number of troops in Iraq. And what about the Iraqi troops? Certainly THEY say all is well, no? NOPE: "We just go out, lose people and come back,” said Iraqi Col Ali Hassan, whose men fight alongside the Americans. "The insurgents are moving freely everywhere. We need a big operation. We need control." Well Col Hassan, you had just better buck up and accept your fate and your nation's fate: It is fucked w/o a kiss b/c it is now simply too dangerous to report on how dangerous it is in Iraq.
