ABCNews:Now the FBI & NSA comes for you

Just as NYTimes' Frank Rich warned in his OpEd this past Sunday:
"...this NSA phone data collection program may have more to do with monitoring "traitors" like reporters and leakers than with tracking terrorists" we get the tip of the scary-ass iceberg from ABC News: 1) Federal Source to ABC News: We Know Who You're Calling. "A sr fedrl law enforcement official tells ABC News the govt is tracking the phone numbers we (Brian Ross & Richard Esposito) call in an effort to root out confidential sources. "It's time for you to get some new cell phones, quick," the source told us in an in-person conversation. ABC News does not know how the govt determined who we are calling, or whether our phone records were provided to the govt as part of the recently-disclosed NSA collection of domestic phone calls. Other sources have told us that phone calls and contacts by reporters for ABC News, along w/ the NYT and the Wa Post, are being examined as part of a widespread CIA leak investigation. The official who warned ABC News said there was no indication our phones were being tapped so the content of the conversation could be recorded. A pattern of phone calls from a reporter, however, could provide valuable clues for leak investigators." AND THIS from ABC News: 2) FBI Acknowledges: Journalists Phone Records are Fair Game: "The FBI acknowledged late Monday that it is increasingly seeking reporters' phone records in leak investigations. "It used to be very hard and complicated to do this, but it no longer is in the Bush admin," said a sr fedrl official. The acknowledgement followed our blotter item that ABC News reporters had been warned by a fedrl source that the govt knew who we were calling." I don't know which is scarier: That our govt is doing this and is getting away w/it, or the un-fucking-believable statements by the "pro-spying" seditionists in the 1st article's thread. If they truly cherish ANY president & govt having this type of control over our civil rights, then they should by all means move to N Korea, China or Iran. I'm sure there that pro-spying Big Brother mentality will be warmly embraced. And to the press, I have this to say: It was your job, for the past 6 yrs to expose the sins of this administration. But you were willing to kiss BushCo's ass, claimed that Bush was the kind of guy we'd like to have a beer with while you turned a blind eye to his plethora of crimes. Now they have come for you; is there anyone left to speak up? And for those of us who value our Bill of Rights, I shall quote Ben Franklin: "He who sacrifices liberty for security gains neither." I have nothing to hide. But my rights are Constitutionally guaranteed... regardless of who is in office or what party they belong to. And isn't it beyond sickening that our military takes an oath to uphold our rights according to our Constitution and sometimes pays w/ their life while defending our rights, while our very own prez & govt is systematically destroying our civil rights and dismantling our Constitution under the lie of "protecting us from terrorists" ?
