Sunday, May 14, 2006 Bereaved War Mothers: The Real Push Behind Having a Mother's Day holiday I came across this post of Marty's at On the Homefront via Granny Ann at Is America Burning. Marty gives us a wonderful history lesson about Mother's Day and why we celebrate it: Mother's Day was originally started after the Civil War, as a protest to the carnage of that war, by women who had lost their sons. Let's please keep that in mind this yr as we celebrate. Squeeze your mom and your own children a lil tighter as we think of all of the mothers who are bereaved now due to the horrific decisions BushCo has made in his incompetent bloodlust quest for Imperialism. |
