Friday, November 10, 2006 150K Iraqis killed by insurgents & Fallujah in the hands of the insurgents again Wow... the news just keeps getting better and better out of Iraq, doesn't it?: Iraq's Health Minister Ali al-Shemari said about 150,000 Iraqis have been killed by insurgents since the US March 2003 invasion, and for every person killed about 3 have been wounded in violence since the war started. And, 2 yrs after US forces supposedly cleared out the insurgents, the city of Fallujah is controlled by insurgents once again. If the current situation in Fallujah doesn't sum up the futility of staying in Iraq for both our military and our country, I don't know what does. Unfortunately, Bush has staked his presidency to this failed policy, so even if there is little chance of "winning", he will keep us there til doomsday. And our Dems are so completely terrified of being branded weak on national security, that they will will do anything not to be blamed for losing the war. |
