Costs of War & Katrina Brings Call for End of War

Reuters: Did the Magic Money Fairy pay our elected officials a visit and tell them that her Deficit is just too big for her empty wallet? Could be: "A number of lawmakers questioned how the nation could afford the massive Gulf Coast relief effort (w/$62 billion fedrl dollars already committed and 10s of billions more expected) along w/ the Iraq war that has cost close to $300 billion so far. Katrina also raised questions on whether the Natl Guard's ability to respond was curtailed by the drain of its forces and equipment to Iraq. Sen Biden (D-DE ) said Americans are left w/ a "Hobson's choice" of continuing to commit US lives and money to an unsuccessful strategy, or pulling troops out and leaving Iraq in a civil war and as a hotbed of terrorism. That does apear to be our choices. I say prevent as many deaths as possible & save billions by pulling the troops, and focus full bore on our nation, including money for our injured/ psychologically suffering & returning vets, tighten up all of our borders, and get down to the business of ditching these negligent wealthy tax cuts so we can focus on our domestic issues in crisis.
