Jerry Falwell: Vote Christian in 2008

Theocracy Watch: "As national chairman of the Moral Majority Coalition, I am committed to lending my influence to help turn out at least 40 million 'faith and values' voters in 2008 to assure that Sen Hillary Clinton, or someone of her ultra-liberal ilk, will never be president of this nation," Falwell wrote in a recent mass fund-raising letter. His goal "is that voters will continue to go to the polls to 'vote Christian' and call America back to God." He added, "Everyone now knows that the stage is set for the church of Jesus Christ to turn this nation back to the faith of our fathers and the Judeo-Christian ethic." Hmm, what will RNC chrman Ken Mehlman & Sen Joe Liberman (D-CT) have to say about this since they kiss Bush's ass and are Jewish? Not to mention the fact that we've had 43 presidents, and all of them in the last 100 yrs have claimed to be Christian ( including Pres Clinton & Hillary) so what a completely pointless statement to make. Could you imagine if a Muslim leader in this country cried: Vote Muslim! The Talibornagains, the GOP & the media would have an aneurysm. And will Falwell please clarify this?: 1) Does he mean vote for the Christians who are pro-life as in pro-war and pro-death penalty? 2) Does he mean vote for the Christians who are pro-family like the ones who cut funding for education, all social programs that benefit families/ military vets/ elderly, and scrapped the bankruptcy law so that people have to live in the streets due to medical bill devastation? 3) Does he mean vote for the Christians who are happily pro-torture, despite the fact that Jesus was the ultimate political torture victim? 4) Does he mean vote for the Christians who will force my toddler's grandkids to pay for their unncessary war & wealthy tax cuts & suffer due to the devastation to the environment that they caused to increase corporate profits? Hmm, w/Christians like that to vote for, why doesn't Falwell just say: Vote Pharisee in 2008?
