Bush requesting additional billions to fund abstinence programs

I can't imagine why anyone would deny our esteemed Prez's request for billions of dollars for such funding... especially when you consider just how honest the Bush adminstration has been with us about this, this, this, this, and this. Toss in the "fact" that abstinence only education has shown such amazing results such as this: "Watch out, boys! Because thanks to Iron Hymen, my baby cave is better guarded than a maximum security prison – even one ringed with electrified razorwire and a crocodile-infested moat!" Not convinced? Just visit the.. ahem... almost too good to be true Iron Hymen for more amazing testimonials. Ya know what? After reading these girls' awe-inspiring words and Lithium Laura's own phenomenal tale involving her yoo-hoo and a vile boy part that was attached to a "pushy young cokehead from a so-called 'good family,' " I'm almost inspired to sing abstinence's praises and go on an Iron Hymen/ Ear Sex tour.... almost. Because let's face it: I imagine the fact that I've given birth to 2 kids and been married nearly 8 yrs to a man that I love having conjugal romps with might just hinder that whole "iron hymen" thing. Oh well... I guess sexless unions truly are better left to conservatives... unless of course, when a union between conservatives produces an heir to the Cheney throne.

Memorial Day... and Bush & the GOP insist upon absolutely no end in sight for the war

I could try to wax poetically about Memorial Day, but frankly, after this week's wimp out on the war by the Dems, I simply don't have it within me to do so. Instead, I will allow my oh-so wise Lil Man to do the speaking for me: Given that this war never should have even been started in the first place, could we please... pretty please with a cherry on top... give peace a chance? Because let's face it, what other option do we have at this point? Victory? Don't make me laugh. Watch this PBS documentary, "No End in Sight," which exposes what it calls "a chain of critical errors, denial, and incompetence that has galvanized a violent quagmire." Yep... a Bush-made clusterfuck that never ends... that sounds about right. Happy Memorial Day to all of our veterans. Because if we can't end this Godforsaken war, we can at least honor those who have served this nation.

Dems Pull Troop Deadline from Iraq Bill

So the Dems rolled over on Iraq deadlines and tossed aside any bit of spine they slowly were growing? As a DNC member, I have one thing to say: Eat me, ya balless excuses for pricks. You'll get another dime from me when you decide to grow a spine. Seriously. I'd rather have Otto running the Congressional show. At least he was able to finagle a bj outta Elaine the stewardess WHILE flying a tanking plane full of screaming passengers. Pathetic Pelosi and Reid apparently couldn't get a handjob at a circlejerk or schedule a gangbang at a whorehouse. They get to dick around, play dress up and pretend to do their "big people job" (that we elected them to do) while this is what is happening to our troops.

White House: Troops don't need pay raise

So, I'm up late with a VERY cranky Lil Man and BabyGirl. He received his first series of vaccines Weds afternoon, and she received her pre-kindergarten vaccines. Both, despite ample doses of kiddie Tylenol and oodles of hugs and kisses, do not feel very good at all and sleep is not an option. Crying, wimpering, and clinging to me is, apparantly, the only option for both. So, while doing my Mommy Nightengale duties, I am perusing thru online news on my laptop, and I come across this stunning piece of news via Army Times: "The House Armed Services Committee recommends a 3.5% pay increase for 2008, and increases in 2009 thru 2012 that also are 0.5% point greater than private-sector pay raises. The slightly bigger military raises are intended to reduce the gap between military and civilian pay that stands at about 3.9% today. Under the bill, HR 1585, the pay gap would be reduced to 1.4% after the Jan. 2012, pay increase. Bush budget officials said the administration “strongly opposes” both the 3.5% raise for 2008 and the follow-on increases, calling extra pay increases “unnecessary.” Hmm... I wonder if this guy, a 20 yr old young man, who gave his face to Bush's unnecessary war while trapped for 20 mins in a fiery ammunition truck in Iraq, thinks that he deserves a 3.5% pay raise? First, the Prez sends our troops into this clusterfuck of choice for reasons based upon complete lies. Then he makes sure that he wings this clusterfuck of choice on the cheap in terms of piss poor armored equipment and inadequate troop numbers, plus inadequately training them for urban warfare, and not preparing them for dealing with a completely foreign culture. Next, we have Abu Ghraib, Walter Reed, and Bush's veto that would have brought the troops home. What more proof does America need that Bush and his party have never supported the troops? They send them to die for a policy that was doomed at Neo-Con conception. They won't treat their injuries when they return. They won't support their families when they die. And now they refuse to give them a pay raise for their service. Yet the Prez and the GOP are supposedly the only ones who possess patriotism and support our troops. I guess all of that love and support comes from a place called the Department of Irony, huh?

Tinky Winky says: Fare thee well, Falwell!

I'm taking time out from the purulent Spewfest on Faux News, aka the Republican debate, b/c there is so very much I could say about the Rev Jerry Falwell's passing.... but Mom always said it isn't nice to speak ill of the dead. So, I guess I'll just say this: Rev Falwell, I'm sure you told all who would listen that you wanted to leave the world a better place...... and now that you're dead and gone, the world certainly is a much better place.

Mother's Day... it all started as a protest to war

This weekend, I plan on spending my time with my kiddos and Hubby, but I also wanted to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all moms... and to my Hubby: Thank you for creating our amazing and beautiful BabyGirl and Lil Man with me. I'm so happy you made me your wife and babies' Mama :) But this year, let's please keep in mind, as we celebrate this holiday, what the real push behind Mother's Day really was: It was originally started after the Civil War, as a protest to the carnage of that bloody war, by bereaved women who had lost their loved ones and who then became determined to fight for peace. So, read up on this history of Mother's Day, squeeze your mom and your own children a little tighter, and think of all of the mothers who are bereaved now due to the horrific decisions BushCo has made in his incompetent quest for bloodlust and Imperialism. But to all the mothers who have been unfortunate enough to suffer a loss in Iraq or Afghanistan, please never forget that NOBODY suffers more watching the carnage of this war than poor little Laura and Dubya.

New studies: 122,000 Iraqi kids died in '05 & Child Abuse and Troop Deployment linked

Firstly, who in their right mind trusted this stumbling and bumbling moron to even handle a small child? Secondly, who would allow their innocent baby to be kissed by the Anti-Christ? Thirdly, how do we even know that he is kissing the baby? Could he be hiding behind that cute bonnet the fact that he is actually engaging in one of his alltime fav pastimes... EATING a baby? And lastly, just look at those evil sneering eyes as he revels in his photo op, which is clearly for his insane base who somehow claims that this man is pro-life. Oh yeah... Bush soooo loves kiddies. Unless of course you happen to have the bad luck of being an Iraqi child or the kid of one of our used and mistreated military members. According to a new study released by Save the Children: "Iraq’s child mortality rate has increased by a staggering 150% since 1990. Some 122,000 Iraqi children died in 2005 before reaching their fifth birthday. More than half of these deaths were among newborn babies in the first month of life." Under the age of 5 and newborns?? Whoa. Given that kids this young are NOT able to be sexually active or live a gay lifestyle, even the most hardcore foaming at the mouth wingnut would be hard-pressed to "justify" the deaths of those Iraqi kids, huh? Personally, as a fellow human being and mom of a newborn AND a 4 yr old, these facts are sickening and utterly staggering to me. Now, even if you happen to accept Walter Russell Mead's "invade Iraq" argument that went thusly: If you accept that 50,000 kids a year die from the sanctions then waiting 10 years for Saddam to leave means you are willing to let 500,000 kids die...... then it sure looks like we are going to do that in a hell of a lot less time, eh? Talk about a stunning pro-life accomplishment for Bush and his Repuke base, huh? Oh well... they're just lil brown Muslim kids, right? But jeeze... ya gotta wonder how this new study can pass the "pro-life" race and religion test even for the mouthbreathing Bush crowd: "A new study in the May 15 issue of American Jrnl of Epidemiology found that when deployments began, reports of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and child neglect quickly jumped from 5 in 1,000 children to 10 in 1,000. The study found that victims were typically age 4 or younger and the abuser was usually the parent who remained at home while a spouse was deployed. Military families had lower rates of child maltreatment than civilian families before war. The study found that abuse rates soared when parents were sent to active duty." Oh well... let's put our heads up our asses and slap on some Bush pro-life glasses to look on the bright side, shall we? At least the Iraqi children and the kids of the troops are lucky enough to be killed in war and abused.... Aborted fetuses never even get to be abused or blown to bits, now do they?

Which GOP Presidential Candidates do NOT believe in evolution?

Gee Chris Matthews, why didn't you ask these great GOP minds of the 13th century: "Which one of you believes the Earth is flat?" or "Which one of you believes Jesus rode a dinosaur?" C'mon... We all know that THIS is the ONLY actual Theory of Evolution that they believe in. For the record, the 3 asshat zealots who raised their hands when asked by Matthews were Brownback, Tancredo and Huckabee. Oh what a shock: Mr. "I want all laws based upon the Bible b/c I'm a Dominionist" Brownback (who was converted to Catholicism by uber Opus Dei wingnut and freaky deaky fetus fondler Rick Santorum) doesn't believe in evolution. Again, oh what a shock: Mr. "I'm openly racist against all black and brown people" and hey, while we're at, "we should bomb Mecca" Tancredo doesn't believe in evolution. And gee, what a shock: Mr. "Gay folks can't be foster parents" and "gay folks getting married somehow threatens my decades long marriage" Huckabee doesn't believe in evolution, either. Of course, McCain-- ever the asskissing panderer-- said that he did believe in evolution (a shocking admission given that he sucked up to the Religious Fright by touting intelligent design as a perfectly A-okay and spiffy teaching topic just a mere year and a half ago) but that he couldn't look at a sunset at the Grand Canyon and not see God's hand. Sweet Jesus on a moped... I honestly don't know which part is most blood curdling for me: 1.) The very fact that a question like that was even asked at a debate for the candidates who think they are qualified to be our Commander and Chief. 2.) The fact that 3 presidential candidates actually do NOT believe in evolution. 3.) The scary fact that I'm truly shocked that ONLY three of this vomitous GOP crew raised their hands... or... 4.) After watching these 10 gangrenous douchebags debate about such un-fucking-believable topics as "a winnable nuclear war"... yeah... you read that right... and watching vainglorious backslapping about Congress getting involved in the Schiavo case, former pro-choicers contemplating if Roe vs Wade should be overturned, and supporting employers who fire people for merely being gay, I actually find myself doubting my own belief in evolution... sigh...

And now... in a completely shameless rip-off of John McCain's debate answer... and the perfect proud mommy opportunity to post a new picture of my now 11 lbs 3oz/ 6 week old Lil Man... I will happily say that I do believe in evolution AND that I simply cannot look at the beautiful faces of my kiddos and not wonder if I'm seeing the amazing hand of God, either.
