Global Warming: We have Scientists. The GOP has their Expert ...... a Standup Comic

Here's the really bad news from scientists: The average temperatures of the first half of 2006 were the highest ever recorded for the continental US, scientists announced Friday. Temperatures for January thru June were 3.4 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th-century average. Scientists have previously said that 2005 was the warmest yr on record for the entire globe. Here's the laughable & unfuckingbelievable news from.... a conservative standup comic... yeah... I am dead serious (Julia Gorin is a conservative standup comic based in Las Vegas.): "It's a peculiar thing that as the threat of global terrorism reaches a crescendo, so apparently does the threat of global warming - at least that's what some would have us believe. Freud called it displacement. People fixate on the environment when they can't deal w/ real threats. While the hawks among us worry about preventing the Armageddon that's coming, our modern-day hippies just want to make sure the planet is pristine when it does. In fact, the more menacing terrorism becomes, the more some people seem to worry about the weather. Scared and unsure how to fight terrorists, they confront "climate change," which only requires spending trillions of other people's dollars on something that may not need fixing or may not be fixable. No wonder some of these people chain themselves to trees - they think money grows on them." I don't want to chain myself to a tree. But I wouldn't mind hanging her stupid ass from one. We spend trillions of other people's money on something that may not need fixing or may not be fixable?? Like launching an illegal war on a nation that posed no threat to us, possessed no WMDs, and had nothing to do with 9/11?? So I guess that when Bush asking for YET ANOTHER bundle of money for the war in Iraq... this time to the tune of $110 billion [If you add together the amounts already allocated, plus the appropriations expected to be approved this yr ($116 billion) and next yr] the total spending for Iraq will soon exceed $400 billion. Again: Who exactly is paying for that? Oh right... that would be somebody else: My BabyGirl, her children & my great- grandchildren... for an unecessary war that Bush pre-emptively chose to wage. Hey comic-bitch: Do us all a favor & STFU and stick to what you know best: Schlepping around the country, staying in crab and roach infested motels, while you attempt to make drunks laugh. Just tell someone w/a brain this planet-destroying spew... you'll get plenty of laughs.
