Britain calls for US to close Gitmo

GuardianUK: "The Attorney Genrl, Lord Goldsmith, is set to trigger a diplomatic row between Britain and the US by calling for Guantánamo Bay to close. Goldsmith will tell a global security conference this wk that Guantánamo Bay must close b/c: "There are certain principles on which there can be no compromise, fair trial is one of those - which is the reason we in the UK were unable to accept that the US military tribunals proposed for those detained at Guantánamo Bay offered sufficient guarantees of a fair trial in accordance w/ internatl standards." Since when has BushCo given a flying fart about internatl standards? But, this can't be good for Bush's bitch Tony Blair... who is on the ropes, and facing a TKO any day now and is expected to resign.
