Thursday, May 04, 2006 Why is Moussaoui only 1 to be tried? Pix courtesy of Travis Stanley. Zacarias Moussaoui was given life in prison w/no chance for parole for his role in the 9/11 attacks. 3 jurors decided Moussaoui had only limited knowledge of the 9/11 plot and 3 described his role in the attacks as minor. 1 thing is clear: He despises Americans, & hopes and wants to see as many of us die as possible. So, I can live w/ his sentence, but what I want to know is why is he the only 1 to be tried? According to boastful BushCo, we have captured plenty of Al Qaida members including the supposed "mastermind of 9/11 Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. So where is this guy? Well... according to Human Rights Watch, he is just 1 of the many "ghost prisoners" in US custody that we have sent to God knows where to have God knows what done to them. According to this from MSNBC, our use of torture is "widespread." So what about the 9/11 mastermind? CNN reported: "All appropriate pressure is being put on Khalid." Hmm... the waterboarding kind of pressure as ABC reported was done to him? The answer is crystal clear: We tried Moussaoui b/c we probably didn't torture him and we didn't rendition him to a "black sites" prison (as we obviously have to this latest captured guy Mustafa Nasar). We can't try people who may have actually been involved in 9/11 b/c we tortured them, they will tell the world what we did to them, and any info they have given us was said to simply stop the torture OR we can't try them b/c during the torturing we killed them. The proof rests in BushCo's own words. Just read what "Good Cop-Bush" and "Bad Cop-Cheney" say about detainees. And then ask John McCain what kinds of things torture will make you do or say. |
