Monday, August 08, 2005 Libby & Miller Met & Discussed Plame American Prospective: Scooter Libby & Judy Miller met on July 8/03- two days after Joe Wilson published his column. And Patrick Fitzgerald is very interested. The meeting took place in DC 6 days before Robert Novak wrote his column that named Plame as a CIA operative, and Libby (chief of staff to VP Cheney) has told fedr'l investigators that he met w/NY Times reporter Miller on July 8, 2003, and discussed Plame. The new disclosure that Miller & Libby met on July 8/03, raises questions regarding claims by Bush that he and everyone in his administration have done everything possible to assist Fitz's grand-jury probe. Interestingly, the Libby/Miller meeting also occurred during a week of intense activity by Libby and Karl Rove aimed at discrediting Plame's husband, Wilson, who on July 6/03, had gone public in a NY Times op/ed piece w/ allegations that the Bush administration was misrepresenting intelligence information to make the case to go to war w/ Iraq. Hmm, you have to wonder this: Is Judy protecting a source or protecting herself against self-incrimination? Well, it appears as if the NY Times is asking this question, too. That is why they are having journalist Doug Jehl do an in-house investigation of Miller's explanation of things. I just hope that this investigation is better than the hachet job the NY Times did on selling America the complete bullshit lies of WMDs in pre-war Iraq (courtesy of course of Judy Miller's Neo-Con reporting of the trumped facts so she could shove the Bush agenda down our throats). |
