Monday, June 12, 2006 Pentagon names 3 Gitmo Suicides Okay, this doesn't pass the smell test to me at all: "One of the Guantanamo detainees who committed suicide had been cleared for transfer to another country, a 2nd was involved in a 2001 prison uprising in Afghanistan where a CIA agent died, and a 3rd had ties to al-Qaida, the Pentagon said Sunday." So, if 1 of them was to be transferred to another nation, my guess is it would be to one of those secret rendition nations, eh? And... if 2 of them had been identified as being dangerous and having ties to al Qaeda, why weren't they ever charged & brought to trial? Oh that's right... then they would have been guaranteed due process of law and the right to an attorney, and that would have impeded BushCo from doing God knows what to them behind closed doors. |
