Monday, October 10, 2005 Tyco's Flanigan Will NOT be Fitzgerald's New Boss AP: Timothy Flanigan, a sr lawyer for Tyco Interntl, wrote Bush that he was w/ drawing b/c of "uncertainty concerning the timing of my confirmation", but the real reason Flanigan has w/drawn as a nominee to be deputy attorney genrl is b/c of his dealings w/ indicted GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff, The Assoc Press has learned. Its great to see that Flanigan will NOT be Patrick Fitzgerald's new boss... especially since the topic on Countdown w/ Keith Thursday night was that Rove is toast: (Lawrence O'Donnell, who broke the story that Rove was the secret source of a “TIME” reporter) O'DONNELL: "Remember, Rove is not being subpoenaed to testify again. He is volunteering to testify again. That is probably b/c the prosecutor's office has indicated to his lawyer that he is likely to be indicted... it's an extremely desperate legal strategy to volunteer yourself to the grand jury. That raises the likelihood that the issue that Rove is trying to get past at this pt in the grand jury is perjury, b/c if it's the underlying crime involving a security breach, there's very little you can do at this stage of an investigation to talk your way out of it." I have to contain myself, or I'll pee my pants w/joy. |
