Saturday, October 08, 2005 The Anti-Torture Bill is On the Chopping Block Now this just warms the cockles of my heart: The very first veto Bush uses will be a veto of the anti-torture law that the Senate had enough sense to approve. And I'm willing to bet-- if they had hearts beating in their chests --the 9 GOP senators who still desire to allow the Bush Administration to torture, degrade and humiliate prisoners as they see fit, would have red-hot cockles, too.
