10/6/05 Speech:Bush & Osama are Hypocrite Twins

As his poll numbers sink even lower (see CBS poll results here), Bush gave a truly laughable speech Thursday about Iraq. He once again said we'd stay the course until we reached victory... what ever that may be since he refuses to even define victory. I just couldn't stop laughing at the blatant hypocrisy. Here is an example that struck me as extremely hypocritical: 1) BUSH: " Like the ideology of communism, Islamic radicalism is elitist, led by a self-appointed vanguard that presumes to speak for the Muslim masses. Bin Laden says his own role is to tell Muslims, quote, "what is good for them and what is not." And what this man who grew up in wealth and privilege considers good for poor Muslims is that they become killers and suicide bombers. He assures them that his -that this is the road to paradise- though he never offers to go along for the ride." Funny, but I could insert Bush's name instead of Bin Laden and Christians instead of Muslims, and it totally fits. Lookit: 1) "Like the ideology of communism, Christian radicalism is elitist, led by a self-appointed vanguard that presumes to speak for the Christian masses." (kinda like when Bush said God told him to launch war? OR when Bush allows Robertson, Falwell, Dobson, and the Talibornagains speak for his WH?) 2) "And what this man who grew up in wealth and privilege (and Bush did in CT & TX as the grandson & son of 2 rich politicians) considers good for poor Americans/ Christians is that they become killers and torturers." (via Bush's illegal war and illegal human rights policies). 3) "He assures them that his -that this road to patriotism- though he never offers to go along for the ride."(oh, just like when you were a rich wimp in the TX Air Nat'l Guard who knew that you would never have to see combat in Vietnam yet you even had to go AWOL from that, AND you don't even send your own daughters off to fight this war that you claim is so damned noble?). Oh the hypocrisy!
