Flacks, Starving the Iraqis & Resurrecting 1918 Flu

1) One of the soldiers at the "staged" Bush teleconference (Sgt Corine Lombardo) is in reality, a "flack" (a PR person) and the Village Voice has "outed" her. We were under the impression that the Tikrit teleconference was comprised of Il Duce Bush and just a bunch of "grunts" giving honest answers. Hmm, then that would mean that Bush & Co lied & tried to pass a Public Affairs Officer as "just a regular soldier giving impromptu answers to Bush's impromptu questions" right? And as more proof that they lied about her being a flack, according to Maj Rich Goldenberg, the 42nd Infantry Division public affairs officer who coordinated the Tikrit side of the event said this: "We specifically brought these guys together because they're the ones who are working day to day alongside Iraqi army units." So, she's working w/the Iraqi army units, eh? It seems to me that Ms. Lombardo is very busy being a military mouthpiece and small time journalist: 1) In this April/o1/05 NY Times article, she is referred to as "Master Sgt. Corine Lombardo, a military spokeswoman". 2) She is a "journalist" for her military base newspaper here and here for The Guard Times . Geeze... no wonder she says here that she is certain she will come home to her husband & 2 kids... she has never ever been near the bullets & bombs that others are forced to endure b/c she was too busy being the PR military mouthpiece who does the WH's bidding.
2) UN officials say the US is starving Iraqi civilians to "get back" at the insurgents. This may not be true, but somehow, it would not be shocking given what we know about the architects of this war. It clearly violates the Geneva Conventions and we did it before in Vietnam when we used Agent Orange to kill off crops that fed Vietnamese civilians and soldiers alike. 3) This is one of the scariest posts I have ever read. We've heard that the Spanish Flu of 1918 was genetically reconstructed to examine it against the Avian flu. But, not only has the 1918 virus been physically re-created, but its entire genome has also now been published for the whole world, good people and very bad, to see b/c the CDC & AFID have published not only the exact sequence of all 8 genes that make up the viral genome, but they've published the instructions for how they made the virus!
