Nat'l Rifle Association: Whoring Out New Orleans

Do NOT misunderstand me: My hubby and I own a 9mm. I know how to use this Glock. I have practiced using it at the range b/c if I had to, I want to know that I can use this gun to protect myself and my family w/out hesitation. I have zero problem w/ responsible gun ownership. But the NRA is not about responsible gun ownership. They are about UNREGULATED gun ownership so they can "hunt squirrel" w/a MAC 10, and they use sickening tactics. For example: They are now whoring out the aftermath of Katrina in N.O. as proof that you must have a firearm. Now, correct me if I'm wrong... but chaos didn't descend upon NOLA until the people were left to fend for themselves-- leading to looting for food & water-- which in turn lead to the theft of guns which ended up in hands of thieves, thugs, and criminal opportunists. Guns were not allowed in the Dome & the convention center (where crimes were reputed to have take place under the cover of chaos & confusion) so how exactly would owning a gun have helped in that particular situation NRA? I guess that bridge being blocked by the Gretna Sheriff is reason enough then for black NOLA residents to own a Sherman tank b/c you never know when you'll have to clear a bridge of heartless racist assholes, huh?
