Monday, September 05, 2005 Katrina's Victims Poorer than Average Americans AP: People living in the path of Katrina's worst devastation were twice as likely as most in the US to be poor and w/out a car- factors that may help explain why so many failed to evacuate as the storm approached. An AP analysis of Census data shows that the residents in the 3 dozen hardest-hit neighborhoods in LA, MS and AL also were disproportionately minority and had incomes $10,000 below the nat'l average. This info should snap shut the pie hole of any heartless prick who shrugs their indifferent shoulders and says: "Why should I feel sorry for these people? They got what they deserved b/c they CHOSE to stay there after the evacuation order was given." There but for the Grace of God go you or I, ya soul-less bottomfeeder. And have ya wondered just how horrendous was it inside the Superdome? Read this via Commondreams (originally in Independent UK) but be warned, b/c it is not for the faint hearted. On the child rapes alone, Bush should be imprisoned. |
