Former PM Allawi: Iraq in Stage 1 of Civil War

Sunday Times UK: Iraq's former interim prime minister Iyad Allawi has warned that Iraq is facing civil war and has predicted dire consequences for Europe & the US as well as the Middle East if the crisis is not resolved. “The problem is that the Americans have no vision and no clear policy on how to go about in Iraq,” said Allawi, a long-time ally of Bush. "The policy should be of building national unity in Iraq. W/o this we will most certainly slip into a civil war. We are practically in stage 1 of a civil war as we speak." Allawi said that he had discussed the urgency of rebuilding Iraq’s military w/ Bush & Rumsfeld last yr. “Bush earmarked $5.7 billion... but I did not receive the money,” Allawi said. Perhaps Allawi should ask the Chinese if they would like to float Iraqi debt- along w/the US's MASSIVE deficits, too. It's working like a charm here in the US. Of course, my baby girl's grandkids will be paying off these massive deficits, but fuck it... LIVE for the MOMENT like Bush & the GOP do-- at the expense of everyone else's lives, futures, and finances.
