Friday, July 08, 2005 Santorum: He-Man Woman Haters Club Member OMG, I detest this asshat w/every fiber of my being. Santorum's new book "It Takes A Family: Conservatism and the Common Good" lays out a vision of a traditional family in which 1 parent works while the other stays at home with the kids while they are young, on the grounds that it's best for the kids. I'm perfectly fine w/staying home w/kids.... IF you WANT TO and/or you CAN AFFORD TO. But most families have ZERO choices. Lets get this straight: Santorum & his GOP ilk want to outlaw all birth control, force every pregnancy to be carried to term, kill off all social programs, bankrupt public education, make college tuition so high that most Americans can't even go, outsource US jobs, refuse to raise min wage, and YET then... they still expect 1 parent to give up work and stay at home for "the sake of the kids"? You're fucking kidding me right? Seriously, you have got to be fucking kidding me. But besides all this, Santorum lies to the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette that he wants women to stay at home and that he blames "radical feminism" for women having the audacity to expect fair pay, hiring practices/ treatment and for wanting to even have a career. But Capitol Buzz nails Ricky good w/a lil thing called facts. |
