Monday, November 14, 2005 Isn't this treason: US Giving Aid/ Comfort to Chalabi Larisa Alexandrovna makes an excellent pt at Huffington: Is the US giving aid & comfort to the enemy?: "Ahmed Chalabi, is the con-man who the US paid more than $100 mill to mislead our govt into war w/Iraq w/ cooperation from certain members of our govt. Chalabi was tried in absentia in Jordan and sentenced to 22 yrs hard labor for bank fraud. I guess that makes him a GOP kind of entrepreneur... and since we won't turn Chalabi over to the Jordanians, he has had the good fortune of becoming the head of the Iraqi Natl Congress (INC). Chalabi's official INC position & gig happens in light of June '04, when the WH gave the order for Chalabi’s house, the offices of the INC & homes of other INC members to be raided b/c Chalabi and pals were passing US secrets to Iran. Now, Iran is part of the "Axis of Evil," so... If Iran is an enemy of the US and Chalabi is an agent of Iran, wouldn't that make Chalabi an enemy of the US? If Chalabi is an enemy of the US and the Constitution defines TREASON as giving aid and comfort to the enemy, then isn't it clear that anyone giving aid and comfort to Chalabi is committing an act of TREASON against the US? |
