Dennis Hastert (R-IL): Why Rebuild New Orleans?

AP: It makes no sense to spend billions of dollars to rebuild a city that's 7 ft under sea level, House Speaker Dennis Hastert said of fedrl assistance for hurricane-devastated New Orleans. "It looks like a lot of that place could be bulldozed. We ought to take a 2nd look at it. But you know we build Los Angeles and San Francisco on top of earthquake fissures and they rebuild too. Stubbornness." Editor & Publisher: An angry LA Gov Kathleen Blanco demanded that Hastert, apologize for his statement. It was "unthinkable," Blanco said, that Hastert would "kick us when we’re down. I demand an immediate apology." Yeah, I'm sure Denny will get right on that apology Gov Blanco... right after he does something about that conscience & soul he doesn't possess.
