Monday, May 01, 2006 Bush has disobeyed 750 laws by now BostonGlobe: "Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office, asserting that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution." I think I'll try that approach from now on. When I get stopped for doing 85mph in a school zone I'll just tell the cop that doing the speed limit conflicts w/my interpretation of the law. Ditto for paying taxes, paying for items at a store, trespassing on my neighbors' property, and for clocking in at work. I don't know, but for some strange reason, I have the feeling I'll be quickly fired, get my ass kicked by a neighbor, and will be in prison... all of which should also happen to Bush. |
