Saturday, April 22, 2006 Former CIA: we knew 6mos before war no WMDs in Iraq but chose to completely ignore Heads up: 60 Mins this Sunday will air an interview w/ Tyler Drumheller, who headed CIA covert operations in Europe during the run-up to the Iraq war. Drumheller said the CIA had evidence Iraq possessed no WMDs six months before the '03 US-led invasion but was ignored by a White House intent on ousting Saddam. The former sr CIA official said intelligence opposing administration claims of a WMD threat came from a top Iraqi official who provided the US spy agency w/ other credible info: "The source told us that there were no active weapons of mass destruction programs." Yet MORE evidence that BushCo's pro-war hard-on for Iraq was going to be satisfied NO MATTER WHAT... consequences be damned. |
