Friday, November 04, 2005 DeLay May Not Like His Newly Appointed Judge I seriously have my doubts that DeLay will ever be held accountable- especially when info like this pops up via Americablog: "FOX News paid Tom Delay $14000 for "travel expenses" to get him from TX to DC- and it doesn't include accomodations or meals"... but then I come across this and still hold out hope for karmic justice. DailyKos: The AP reports that TX Chf Justice Wallace Jefferson, a Repub w/ integrity (imagine that), has chosen Judge Pat Priest to preside over the DeLay trial. I am a San Antonio criminal defense attorney who has been practicing for a little over 5 yrs now. Pat Priest is the kind of judge that attorneys, young and old alike, can look up to. Priest will always, w/out fail, handle himself w/the dignity and even-handedness that we should expect from judges. He can be counted upon to rule fairly and, even if he rules against you and your client, he rules in such a way that allows you to have no hard feelings about it. He is a kind, respectful man, which is somewhat ironic being that he is so kind and respected and does not have to reciprocate." That is great news... and I'm sure that DeLay is muttering this now: "Dammit... a judge w/ integrity... now I'm so FUCKED!" |
