Bush Picks Sam Alito, the Paternalistic Prick

This news has completely put a big dent in my Halloween festivities, yet I don't know why I should be shocked. Why would W bother to choose someone who is human? George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley says this about Alito: "There will be no one to the right of Sam Alito on this Court. This is a pretty hardcore fellow on abortion issues. He’s the top choice for particularly pro-life people. Alito is viewed as someone who is likely to join the hard right in likely narrowing Roe and possibly voting to overturn Roe." For all things Alito, check out this PDF-- a 27-pg report on the man who will send us all back to the 16th century if confirmed to our highest court. There are so many reasons to oppose this guy that it is hard to pick only a few examples, but I'll give it a try: 1) Alito believes it is acceptable to strip search 10 yr old kids. 2) Alito voted against The Family Leave Act (b/c it is so pro-life and pro-family to want people to be denied the opportunity to take care of newborns and dying family members, isn't it?) 3) Alito detests equality in any form. 4) Alito supports race-based and disability based discrimination. This SCOTUS pick just infuriates me and I just want to drink heavily and go to bed. The rest of my posts will be humorous b/c I need a frickin laugh right now.
