70s Iranian Hostage says New Iran Prez was Captor

Firstly, let's clear this up right here and now: the new Iranian President is 5'2'' in height. That is pretty damn short. Now, check out the 1979 pix (courtesy of BBC) of the guy the former Iranian hostages claim is now the new Iranian prez. The guy the former hostages claim is the new Iranian prez is directly next to the blindfolded hostage... and there is NO WAY this captor is 5'2". I know it was the 1970s and platforms shoes were in... but NOT for these fundamentalist Aytollah- loving bunch. Maybe the memories of the former hostages are not so great? Maybe the former hostages are now Bush- loving Kool-Aid drinkers who want to wage war against Iran. And maybe, EVEN IF he was a hostage taker 26 yrs ago, our President was a drunk back then. What's the point? An apology might be nice, but we're not getting that. Why? B/c the agreement that was struck w/the captors on Reagan’s inauguration day released almost $8 billion in Iranian assets, the hostages were freed after 444 days in Iranian detention & the agreement gave Iran immunity from lawsuits arising from the incident. The fundamentalist hostage takers were protesting the Shah of Iran's close relationship w/the "decadent" US- so -they wanted a religious Iran free from decadence (this line of thinking should appeal to today's GOP) but they were not terrorists. Non murdering hostage takers who are protesting political actions w/in their own nation does not a terrorist make.
