64 Yrs Ago Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor

As we remember the 64th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, I want to say thank you to my now deceased paternal & maternal grandfathers. They both served in WWII (dad's Italian immigrant dad in the Army/ mom's Romanian immigrant dad in the Navy). In fact, after visiting this site, I discovered that my Italian grandfather enlisted in the Army on Dec 29, 1941... 22 days after Pearl Harbor was attacked. Nothing like jumping into the thick of it, eh Poppi? Poppi's younger brothers Michael and Joseph both served in WWII, too. Joseph was a Sgt who died April, 1945 on his 20th mission as a tall gunner with the 390th Bomber Squadron in the Pacific. He was only 23 yrs old. Thank you all so much for your service, and for your sacrifice. To my grandfathers: I love you both, and I miss you both so much. May you all rest in eternal peace.
