Sunday, October 02, 2005 FL Teacher Tells Class 2 Talking Boys are Gay FLTimes-Union: The Clay County school system allowed a teacher to remain in the classroom nearly a wk after he was accused of disciplining two 6th-graders by instructing the boys to hold hands as he told classmates they were gay. The teacher, Larry Eger, who resigned Thurs, told the Swimming Pen Creek Elementary students to sit knee-to-knee in the front of the class and hold hands w/each other (after they were caught Sept 23 mouthing words to each other in the classroom) said Jackie Fuller, a mother of 1 of the boys. Fuller said Eger told the boys to hold hands but they refused, and then Eger announced to the rest of the class that they were gay. "The boys said the other kids were laughing at them," Fuller said. Gee, nothing like a little humilation to leave a hefty impression on a kid, eh? And of course, the endless teasing those 2 boys will endure as a result of this teacher's actions will certainly leave a helluva impression, too. That teacher's resignation is NOT enough... a giant lawsuit sounds appropriate. |
