The US Flag Code states: The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. Hmm... whose signature is that on that big ol' flag? Oh yeah... George W. Bush defaced that flag by writing on it- but that's OK b/c he's above all laws.
