Indonesia's Prez Wants Voters to Call His Cell Phn

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia announced the number to his cell phone on Sat. and said anyone could call or send text messages if they wanted to complain about govt services. Wow- imagine that- a Prez who wants to hear what we have to say & cares enough to give his personal cell number out to millions of voters? (OK, it is kind of a stupid idea, I mean obviously this could have SERIOUS ramifications) but contrast that w/our Prez: Bush's ghost writer when Bush was Gov of TX & when he was gearing up to be prez in'99 was Mickey Herskowitz. Read this Oct '04 article from Common Dreams w/Herskowitz: "He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999. It was on his mind. He said to me: 'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.' He said, 'If I have a chance to invade- if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency."
