Cincinnati Catholic Church Declares War on Dems

Excited to have an alumni who has achieved so much public success, Hyde Park's Summit Country Day School invited Kansas Gov. Kathleen Gilligan Sebelius to be this year's commencement speaker. But the Catholic school uninvited her after talking to Cincinnati Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk about the Democratic governor's support for abortion rights. "We initially nominated her because we were proud of her career successes, but after further consideration, we rescinded our invitation." said school spokesperson Carol Boyd. For those of us who have been living in denial (me included) about the blatantly political decisions this church continues to hand down, this is the last straw. It is now clear, there is no place for a pro-choice & pro-gay rights Dem in the Catholic Church anymore. This is truly a sad day. Pilarczyk is the same Archbishop, by the way, who has been tied to allegations of covering up sexual abuses by priests. So, let's get this straight: It's okay to sweep child abuse under the rug, but it's a mortal sin to allow a hugely successful & respected alumni give a commencement speech because she happens to disagree with official church doctrine on 1 issue?
