Tests show Cosmetics/ Toiletries are Toxic

Holy Cripe! I am a perfume, body powder, full makeup, nails polished, hair always done kinda girl... so this is some scary-ass news from the IndependentUK: "B/c the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows the cosmetics industry to regulate themselves, most personal care products have not been safety tested. So, you have to ask yourself, how toxic is your bathrm?" And... will your (or your BABY's) daily beauty/ hygiene regime take yrs off your life? Yes, that is all we need in our homes... a ticking timebomb in the form of Olay Regenerist and Johnson's Babywash... sweet Jesus.

  1. I believe that Britain regulates their cosmetics. You could also go the organic route. More expensive,...but less toxic.

  2. Jessica: You are so correct. I am particularly fond of Avea's Earthbound baby soap, which I received as a baby shower gift. Very gentle soap that smells amazing... it is made w/coconut and chamomile oil. And I received their Earthbound honey and oatmeal exfoliating soap as a baby shower gift to me. Both were so nice, but to replace them, each cost about $9 US.
