"Fuzzy and Blue" is a song that Grover and Cookie Monster sing on Sesame Street. Like Grover and Cookie, I care about children, I am BLUE, i.e., I am a DEMOCRAT, and I believe that we need to respect, encourage and foster the well being and prosperity of all creatures, regardless of wealth status, education, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

60 Mins Nails WH on Plamegate
60 Mins' Ed Bradley nailed it on CBS's show when he analyzed what outing a CIA operative means to the operative, their family, the nation and our security, and makes clear the idea that the executive branch of the US would even consider such a move FOR ANY REASON is unthinkable, but for a PETTY POLITICAL VENDETTA makes it even worse. Hat tip to NYBri. Here's good analysis by 2 notables: 1) Murray Waas' "Addington's Role In Cheney's Office Draws Fresh Attention" 2) Bernard Weiner's "Patrick Fitzgerald's Diary: Watching Them Flop, Squirm, Flip".
The prosecutor could find no evidence that Libby outed a CIA operative. Libby is charged with the same thing for which Bill Clinton was convicted but not punished. He allegedly lied to a grand jury. In other words, the prosecutor did not find the WMDs, but he's going ahead with the war anyway.
ReplyDeleteLone Ranger, this yawn is for you. YAWN. Lone Ranger you make me tired from boredom with your tedious, & old and tired Republican talking point lies. But you do make me (and probably all other's who have brains in their heads) shake my head in disbelief.
ReplyDeleteI guess completely denying that your Dear Leader is the criminal don of his crime family and political party is how you Republican freaks sleep at night.
Outing a CIA agent compromise all of America's national security. But I guess smearing the CIA operative wife of a war critic is supporting our national security to you people.
But then again, I bet you think you and your party supports the troops, too. So is slapping a yellow magnet on your car that says Support the Troops after you cheer Bush on when he cuts veterans benefits, stop losses them, asks them to torture, and sacrifice their blood for a illegal war supporting the troops?
Of course not.
Oh yes Lone, you and your ilk are certainly morally superior to us all. YAWN-- zzzz--zzzz
Whoa there Kemosabe, the prosecutor found that the Libby perjury to the grand jury and to the FBI agents, prevented the full trail of treason to be uncovered. The secrets acts has many very specific requirements, and Fitzgerald put about 90% in the indictment, which is very different than (no evidence was found). The crime of an outing of a CIA operative happened, and the conflict in grand jury testimony exists. Maybe, in your mind then perjury is the same thing as "not guilty".
ReplyDeleteIn other words, the prosecutor did not find the WMDs, but he's going ahead with the war anyway.
It's strange that you mention war. Liddy lied to protect the mushroom-cloud fraud in the Bush rush-to-war where over 2000 have died and almost 20,000 are badly wounded, and we don't have any idea how exposing Valerie Plame and the REAL world-wide WMD intelligence operation has harmed the US.
If you want to defend Libby, then you have to defend the war based on lies and deception, and the way the US strength is being squandered and wasted in Iraq, all because the administration can't admit it when they make mistakes.
Dear Anon & Earl: Stop confusing the Lone Ranger with those pesky lil things called facts. You both know GOPers can't handle that. The Lone Ranger has visited my blog before... and after soundly bitchslapping him he never cared to retort to my comment... alas... he may just decide to stay away again... sigh. Please check out what the Lone Ranger said and then received:

I see the Lone Ranger has been into the Kool-Aid again, Tina.
ReplyDeleteAnon and Earl...right-on!
Erin, are you suggesting that the crime of outing an agent happened solely on the basis of the conflicting grand jury testimony in the absence of other evidence? So far nobody's even shown conclusively that Plame was covert as defined by law. If she wasn't, then it doesn't matter how much Libby or anyone else lied about whatever, because them lying does not make the original charge (outing an agent) true. If that's not what you're suggesting, then what evidence is there that the original crime happened? Forget about all the cover up for a minute, because if there was nothing that needed to be covered up, then they wasted their time and effort, and Libby should be slapped for stupidity in lying.
ReplyDeleteMike: Who in the fuck is Erin? Seriously... do you even know whose blog you comment on, or will any liberal blog suffice in your twisted world?
ReplyDeleteHere's a tip.... STOP drinking the GOP Kool-Aid. You may suddenly develop clarity of mind and a conscience.
